Hash vs. Butter

So Im looking for some input on whether to make hash or to make butter. Will be using just trimmings and plant matter, ganja mash.

In regards to the hash, I would be using Mila's bubbleator, got all screens, twice the work. Lowest is 20 something micron. For anyone who hasnt used these screens, the smallest micron screen is a real pain to get the water through. The screens work really well though at catching the trichomes.

With the butter, I would use a crockpot add some butter and water probably cook on low for 20 hours, then put in the fridge and so on...

Could always make the hash and then use it for cooking. kinda seems redundant?:leaf:

I would make hash. It would be better to add some hash to bread, brownies ect...

I have a few tricks to get the 25 micron bag to flow. You hold the bag in your hands and move in a dropping motion, then stop and jerk slightly upward. This will force more water threw the screen. I can empty the 25 micron bag in about 2 minutes. When there is only a little left I squeeze.

You can also "milk the bag". I place it in my sink and lift and drop to free up the screen, let drain for 10 seconds and repeat.

Ya, I have seen people do that before, never tried it though. I kind of baby the bags. Theyre not exactly cheap to replace. Sometimes it forms a froth. Do you have any tricks for that?... assume that you milk it.

How long would you need to cook hash with butter, oil, etc. for good extraction? Ive always done it with mash for 15+ hours. Im thinking hash would be a much shorter process, since the trichomes have already been extracted and theres nothing really to filter. Thinking basically just cook to melt the hash and let cool?

Right after I scrape out the hash with a spoon I fold a paper towel and press down to dry most of it out. I don't use the pressing screens. Sometimes you just have to wait for the foam to settle.

I simmer hash or ground up bud in canola oil for about 30-45 minutes.

Canna butter will last so long you may still be high the next day. Made a batch 1.25 stick of butter. Used one stick in a chocolate fallen souffle and had left over. Made it a month ago and we still have about 1/2 of the souffle left.

He's right it's no joke. Last batch of banana bread I made me and a few guys didn't show up to work the next day.

if you lightly tap the bottom / side of the 25 micron it will kick up the hash off the bottom, allowing the water to sneak underneath....i just keep tapping it for a few minutes and it's empty in less than 5 mins.

If you just let it sit it will b there for an hour or more

I like to make dry screened hash then throw all the unscreened green in the crock pot, 8 hours is what I do on low after it starts boiling.
If you take lecithin at the time of ingestion (aids in absorption) on an empty stomach it can really hit you hard and fast but won't last all day if you ate first.
