Has my plant hermied on me ? Any thing to do to save it

Hello good morning people just recently got my plants out was going to start trimming off lowers branches and leaves ( this is my first grow so I am a novice I thought the white pistils ment it was a female but further down 3rd -4th nodes has what
Looks like little pollen sacks developing there’s not many I’ve read wet the plant take it away and pluck them off and keep an eye on it my 3 others look okay they’ve only just started to go into flower so I think I’ve caught it at the right time any advice would be much appreciated

yes unfortunately its a hermi, cover it with a plastic/ paper bag so the pollen wont spread and get rid of it in the trash as soon as possible

thanks for getting back to me I do have a separate tent , is it not worth keeping would u get any bud off it at all ? Just Feel like it’s a waste to throw it in the bin without trying

Sorry Mate no, its a solid hermie its a really really bad one, some times you get the odd plant with a few balls, like 2 at the very top in very late flowering which you can pick off, and thats it, those ones are caused by environmental stress or very ripe buds and thats it, sorry mate but your plant is major hermie, in your case its the seed genetics and not environmental, they are all up your stem at the start of flowering, your going to have to get rid of it. they will keep appearing, any bud would be rubbish quality anyway, not worth stuffing up your other plants.

Focus your energy on the other plants.



Bag it and get rid of it or it will seed your others, (producing more hermie seeds)

That pollen once released can fuck up multiple future grows in your tents/house/garden.

Those pollen sack are so close to popping and a few may have popped, get rid of it today and don't look back.

yeah it does really suck , I’m just hoping none of the others turn out the same way as that or that it hasn’t pollinated the other 2 what’s signs do I look out for ? , it’s been left out all day I’m giving it to a friend who’s going to put it in his green house the strain is bomb seeds THC Bomb auto , I’ve got some 420 fast bud seeds coming ak47 lemon are they a hermit strain ? Or are they okay ?

You should not try and attempt to get seeds from a hermie plant. Passing on its genetics is not good either.

Fast versions tend to be less stable and you have to expect more hermies with ultra fast flowering strains, I recommend fem seeds rather than autos and the mid length flowering strains produce way more yield for just 2-3 weeks more time.


the ultra fast varieties usually disappoint in yield and potency , bud density and hermie more often.

I have to disagree. I've grown hundreds of autos and have only seen a couple hermies in the 7 years since I switched from photos. Not one from Mephisto, tis all I grow now.

Fair enough yes autos and ultra fast Flowers can be fine,

but this is Newbie Central, so Im keen to direct Newbies to a area of advice where they will hopefully get the best outcome on the very first grow.
Great you found Mephisto, but im sure it wasn't the first seed you sprouted as a newbie?

I will continue to give advice to help the new comers avoid problems, the experienced growers are set in their ways for better or worse, and are near impossible to try educate and that is totally fine.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it , im going to order just normal feminine seeds for my next grow I went with autos as I thought would be good to learn from as there ment to be more resilient to stress and disease I maybe pushed them too hard had it set up for 24hours so since the one that hermied has been taken away I changed the light setting to 18 hrs on 6 off so they get a bit of a break and I can save on my electric bill too , maybe a bit of a smaller yield but as Long as I’m learning I don’t mind
