Nice. Some of you are lucky. Im in my late 20s and the people in the know about me growing is only my parents n siblings (none of which know where I grow) and my wife .

No one else has any clue and only my wife actually knows where I grow. Kinda sucks in some ways but being this reserved about it has been a blessing in disguise.

Call me a nerd but I like it that I spend all my free time with my wife. She was always my best friend even before we moved past the platonic stage of our relationship so I really don't feel im missing out on much lol
Hang in there, you won't be in your 20's forever. Your words reminded me of my first grow attempt: I was fresh out of the Navy and glad to not have to run around the ship trying to find a place to smoke some rope... In my first apartment I tried growing some Mexican Red Hair (10 dollars a lid - A "Lid" was a baggy 4 fingers high and about half an inch wide). I tried growing with 2 flood lamps using plastic sockets that cracked from heat. Then I tried growing in the attic in two large plastic trash bags. The heat would have killed them in the end, but I didn't know enough to put holes in the bags for drainage so they got root rot after 6 weeks...

Smart to keep your growing quiet - you will sleep better when they get close to harvesting. Good luck!

That sucks. The smell gets on your clothes and hair. I hang my clothes outside and take a shower after trimming.
What I hate is focusing for so many hours, it makes me go a bit crazy.
you know... what I do... and i'm weird so keep this in mind..
Is get some good stand-up comedy, or "auditory" amusement, like "family guy" or "south park" or whatever, something you don't need to watch to enjoy, and then I get three paper plates, the big thick ones, and have the untrimmed nugs on one, the trim on the other, and the finished nugs on the last plate, I lie down, and put the plates on my lap, and trim while listening to the comedy..
Keeps it a little more doable.. also sports works well too, well sorta, i'm a sports nut so I end up watching tv...
Either way... trimming is my sole reason why I don't go commercial.

Saving money number one reason
the only differance it has made is in my wallet. I dont smoke, my wife does. The cheeper I can get weed the better. My electric and water bill is a lil higher but its still way cheeper than buying the shit off the street. I needed extra money for a trip recently so I just sold an oz and was good to go. Other than watering, I dont spend much time messing with the plants these days

Growing definitely has saved me money. Big time. I use to sEll but that's years ago when I first started growing. I did pretty well for you kid growing in a 8x10 room bit only using half that space with 2 600s and a big 4ft t5 in a walk in closet for veg.

It was definitely go big or go home. Lol.

I was comfortably living off marijuana only for a good while through my college years. All I did was study n grow.

The trimming was the worst. I use to just sit down and do marathon trims (like 4 plus hrs until my fingers were worn out)

I ended up having to move (unrelated to marijuana or growing) so I quit growing for almost a year. Once I got into a place I could grow I started back up but just for fun/myself /the wife

These days I still grow just for myself and it's much better this way. Less paranoid. Plus I can grow what I really want instead of considering a buyer's opinions/needs/wants.

I use to grow a strain at a time by the lb. It was sucky having only 1 or 2 types of bud to smoke for months on end.

Now I try to grow only 1 plant per strain and fill in my space with a good variety of buds. All I grow with now is 1 600w and a small 2ft t5 for veg/experiments.

At most I have 6 going at once. Two under the t5 and 4 under my 600w hps.
