Has anyone used this?: Regen-a-Root, Kills root diseases Pythium, Rhizoctonia, ect.

No doubt churchhaze, i can agree with that for the most part, I've never gotten slime in bigger systems with healthy plants, but the first time i've had the slime in many years was this year. In my cloner, before they rooted and on the stem of the cutting. Any input on that?

Or is that a different kind of rot? @churchhaze

Were you using nutes in the cloner? Maybe it was too cold? I don't really know. The main point I was trying to make in the thread is that keeping a healthy plant is the best way to avoid root rot.

It was a bubble cloner, just tap water but the water got pretty hot. It didn't go away and after 2 failed attempts in the bubble cloner (the first 2 or 3 times i've ever used a bubble cloner was this year, and those attempts were 100%) even after bleaching everything and new pumps ect, I went back to using my aero cloner and i have 100% cloning success with the aero. It was really weird getting the slime in the bubble cloner, it came out of no where and made the stems a mushy mess. But all is good now and i just put the bubble cloners up in storage. I honestly don't know why i got the slime but it happened and it was only when i used the dang bubble cloner

But i agree, healthy plants, in my opinion, can fight off any bad stuff in the res and unhealthy plants just i would assume would just get infected leading to the rot. Which makes sense I got the slime in my cloner. Cuttings are weak and stressed and have no roots and can't fight off any of the bad stuff.

I will be using silica and wilt guard this run on my grows, which helps build strong roots and plants, which in return should prevent any unwanted crap brewing in the res. Healthy roots definitly equals a happy plant

Never used it, but I know a guy using it in his RDWC system and swears by it's effectiveness.

I've been running RDWC for years and the way to beat slime in the water is as follows;

1. Clean water, so filter/ro/uv filter if you suspect pathogens are in your water supply

2. COLD water holds dramatically more dissolved oxygen than warm does, so chill your water at least to 66f, as cold as 60f. Colder will slow growth IME.

3. Lose the airstones, lines and pump; run waterfalls as they do a better job of mixing and aerating without adding heat or microbes

4. Brew beneficial microbe tea and feed to the crown of the plant's roots; it will run down through your substrate and into the water, inoculating all.

5. EC 1.6 or below, pH 5.5- 5.8

I've used the above mentioned product; until I installed a chiller and got my water temps down, nothing helped- not even bleach. Once the water temps were down, I never needed any root system conditioner again. Period, full stop.
