Panama if I could give you anymore advice it would be to listen to what HeartlandHank is telling you. The guy walks the walk, so many people just talk and talk and talk. I learned that root aphid/fungus gnat test from a grower buddy in Seattle, he's also the guy that sold me on the Bayer tree and shrub. They also make a citrus and fruit but the tree and shrub is supposebly just a more concentrated version. When our circle first got root aphids I didn't even know the fuckers existed. I had once got a bad pallet of Happy Frog soil that sat outside of the shop before I picked it up and they were full of gnats. Wouldn't have been a problem but I was behind schedule and got halfway thru the pallet before I realized. Fucking sucks to start out with problems but that comes with the territory I guess. If you haven't contracted pests of some sort, disease of some sort, or severely fucked up you haven't been growing long enough. I once had a float stick in a large res inside of a house that was mostly a grow op. I had left in the morning and wasn't set to come back until late that evenin when I got a call from my neighbors claiming water was coming out the front door. That was a big fuck up. Remember that feeling like it was yesterday. Anyways I'm rambling about absolutely nothing to do with this thread so I'll shut the fuck up now...

I used neem oil and something else I'll have to see what it was called, and I only used one cap of each in 2.5 gallons of water and I had them sticky glue things for flys/bugs they are non-tonix pretty much just round things that the bugs stick to after you use that stuff they try to run and get stuck to it but only one batch and they were all gone I had hundreds of them, and it was pretty cheap like 20 for the two bottles.
