I have already purchased some Vero29 COB lights and have also been considering DIY HLG quantum boards, but I came across these and was wondering why they are so cheap:

This company makes these lights with Cree and OSRAM pcb arrays that seem to get over 150lm/w at full power. I am wondering how much the efficiency would rise if they were dimmed with a 12v transformer. Seems like they would get 175lm/w or more for much cheaper cost, and they make dual spectrum versions 6500k/3000k. Surely the PAR output would be high as well because of the chips.
