Has anyone used Ryan Riley's e-book on growing?

What is your opinion of his online growing advice. His system costs about $60 and I wanted to hear what you had to say about it. Strengths? Weaknessess? Please let me know?

I've seen the book.

In an nutshell, it does contains a lot of good information and good pictures, but a lot of it has been lifted from elsewhere on the internet, and some of it is not really in depth, or the kind of depth you'd hope for a book presenting itself as the authoritative electronic guide to modern growing. (For example, if I remember right, there is nothing or virtually nothing in there about SCROG).

Its also not really concise. . .At over 600 electronic pages, I really think it could be pared down a great deal, yet still contain all the info it needs.

IMO, its just way too much information for a new grower, and there are better introductory grow guides out there on the internet.

For someone who wants a one-stop overview of just about everything grow related (ie germinating, veg/flower, cloning, breeding, training) its probably a reasonable place to start. If you read the book, you'll at least be familiar with most grow-related issues and techniques.

But in any specific area, you could get the same info for free, and probably in more depth, just by searching this forum. Info you'll definitely get better here includes stuff on seeds and seedbanks, strains, specific lights and products, etc.

If concise and well written is what you are after I highly recommend "Medical Growing ~ A Garden of Peace" by Daniel Boughen with a foreward by Joseph R. Pietri. It is an actual paper book around 100 pages with a log book to track your experiences with growing including pollenating and generating your own seed. If you are inclined to approach this path scientifically and are more interested in the medical aspects than just getting wasted and locked to the couch with a bag of Doritos (in no way am I condemning this approach ~ been there done that ~ 45 years ago!) then Amazon has this book. The ebook costs money also or is there a free version floating around? Id check it out but for money im sure you can find equal or better information for free on the net.

yes, virtually everything can be found online, but it can take A LOT of time. check out the ROLS thread on RIU. lots of good info, which my book is based on, but my book is also more coherent and can be read through quicker. there's always a trade off.

Hey There. I am very interested in getting copies of those books from you. I am getting ready to start a hydro RDWC system and i am trying to acquire as much info as possible. I search the internet daily reading forums and watching videos. It can be hard to sort through all of the garbage and unsubstantiated opinions and it would be nice to have to text to read. I will at least know they went thorough the effort to write a book which indicates they have some knowledge.
