Hey people, I'm a total noob so I thought I would post this in here. I am currently on my first grow in my second week of flowering. After much reasearch I had my mind made up that I wanted to use molasses cuz I've heard of better yeild and taste, who doesn't want that? Recently I've noticed on this board people having problems with it gunking up their tanks and shocking the plants, made me re-reasearch the whole molasses thing. Now it's easy to find refrence to using it in soil, and is apparently nothing new, but I have heard of it being used in hydro, mostly from a recent hightimes mag I've got which recomends 5ml or 1 tablespoon per gal and to make sure it's completly disolved in warm water before adding to your tanks.

So basically, this is a call out to anyone who has used, or uses molasses in their hydro, aero, DWC, anything but soil and has gotten it to work, how much they used etc, etc. thanks, peace.

Well I tested it in my aero setup and it damn near killed everything as it gunked up and foamed fast.I went with 2 tablespoons per gallon in a 50 gallon res after disolving it in hot water then adding. I would suggest my tried and true Sweet which is same stuff but refined to get some impurities out it works fine in my aero. Or you could use something like sugar daddy.

Thanks fletch, northernlights I'll get some sweet and try it out, do you use it at 2 tablespoons per gal like you tried with the molasses?
