Has anyone here ever used one of them '3-in-1' AC/heater/dehumidifier units for they grow?

Are you referring to the Terraformer? The name says it all, right?

If I could get one in to the area around my tent, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It looks like it gives you total control over the RH and temperature in your grow space. And it might even allow you to set up a closed circulation loop which means you can run CO2.

I've got a lot of their gear, including their heater and the C69Pro+ as well as a 14l BTU portable AC unit the cool my garage but the Terraformer is, hands down, far superior to separates. It's one unit that ties in through the ducts in the tent. Hook it up, set it up, and walk away. If you need to you can just unhook the hoses and roll it out of the way. That's a big improvement over separate AC and heater units.

The big question is when will they be available (again)? They've been "out of stock" for months, right?

Hey thanks for replying.

Not the Terraformer, never herd of that device. I'm referring to the SereneLife 4-in-1 portable AC/Fan/Dehumidifier/Heater unit. Can I post Amazon links on here?

This is the device I was referring to. How much does that device cost that you listed? It's not mentioned on the site

$600. The second review is interesting, the ducts have to be reconfigured for AC, heat or de-humidification. :wall:

It’s an air conditioner
I guess they weren’t real clear. It kinda sounded like you have to change the hoses around to get the different features. I thought no way, it has to be an A/C with electric heater to dehumidify. I got it. Yes, it’s just an A/C. If you want to heat or dehumidify you have to run the condenser exhaust in to your space. If you need heat at night and A/C during the day you would have to unhook the unit and spin it around to change modes! It does cool very good but the cold air supply hose should have been insulated to stop condensation. It should also have a continuous fan option in A/C mode. Looks like I also need to buy a condensate pump to get rid of the water. A little disappointed. It should say it’s an air conditioner, or a dehumidifier, or a heater cause it won’t do all 3 only one at a time. Lots of room for improvement.

I'm not familiar with the SereneLife product.

I looked up that device and that's just a portable AC unit. I've got a Whynter 14k AC unit that I don't use any more (I gave up doing a Summer grow) and it's got the same functions. It's an AC unit with a heater unit that's also used to dehumidify. The Terraformer is a very different beast.

The Terraformer name harkens back to movies from the 80's such as "Running Man" or maybe the original "Dune"? The word terra" is Latin for "land".

Hey Delps, have you laid your hands on one and tried it out yourself?
The for ducts, are they for different functions or for different tents?

No, I haven't seen one and, until tonight, haven't even looked for or at the docs. The marketing material piqued my interest and it seems to be a very configurable device. I've had great experience with AC Infinity and believe them to be well thought out and well manufactured so I suspect it will do what it appears to be designed to do — a portable (it's on wheels) device that allows you to control the grow environment in a pretty good sized tent.

The various configurations of ducting are for different functions but, if you want to use all of the functions, just use all the ducts. Check out the PDF that' at the link that @1212ham posted. It looks pretty straightforward.

It's one per tent. Yeh, it's $600 for a tent but for that $$ you control the environment in the tent precisely and you don't need their heater or the humidifier or an AC unit or a dehu.

My grow is in a 2' x 4' tent in a garage in SoCal. I spent $400± for a 14k Whynter AC unit because, if I want to grow in the summer, I need to cool the entire garage. My Waykar dehu was $200± because I have veto dehu the entire garage. And the electricity cost of the AC using was $200 per month.

If I only need to heat, cool, and de/humiidify that little 2' x 4' x 8" tent instead of a 20' x 20' x 8' garage, the savings in electrify for the AC unit for one summer grow will pay for the Terraformer. A payback period of one grow is amazing. And it's all controllable from anywhere in the world using an iPhone. Wow.

I agree its intriguing... Having everything under "one brain" is very interesting aswell with no more dialing in of vpd, just push in your desired levels and thats it, no more guessing and adjusting. Seems like no euro version currently :/

It is an intriguing piece of equipment, but a legitimate concern is build quality and reliability.
ACI's track record with their fans doesn't instill confidence.
It's one thing to get stung by an over-priced, under-built $60 fan, quite another when shelling out $600.

The limitations @1212ham raised seem to greatly limit it's utility in many grow environments.

ACI gave me the run-a-round for months, four warranty replacements in rapid succession, then offed a refund.

I thought @1212ham was referring to the SereneLife device. That is another AC unit. Terraformer is a different approach.

I've read other comments like this and I just don't get it. I've been in touch with their tech support a few times and everything has worked out fine. It' can't be because I'm a "warm and friendly" guy. :-)

As for their products, I can't say that they're not well built and "pricing"? I bill by the hour (in one minute increments) so a $50 device that I can set remotely is money well spent. Or, better yet, I can set it and have it figure things out-now you're talkin'.

[time passes]
I love their products but their lights are just don't do it for me.

And, wouldn't you know it, a grower her on RIU has had one of their lights crap out.

My bad, I was referring to the Cloudcom. It doesn't work with my phone and they assured me an app update would soon correct the problem. Several months later a firmware update got it to download data, but it's corrupt and useless.
