Has anyone ever seen or used Hydrock in their living soils?

I'm still learning about gardening in general. It says it's inert, does that mean it's considered organic? I wasn't going to use it for pot, just my garden. I was looking for some other people opinion. Maybe people who know more about gardening than I do.

That's what I thought. But just bc it's an inorganic material doesn't mean I couldn't use it and still be considered organic?

Your grow will still be organic, because they're just taking up space and acting as an aeration element to your soil. Perlite is very similar in that respect, and perlite is in the majority of "organic" grows I see. The important part is that your plants are eating organically.

However, your soil as a whole may not be not considered "organic-sustainable" because of the manufacturing process of hydroton/perlite, etc. But that is more about environmental & economic impacts at larger scales.
