Has anyone breed towards Menthol Terps?

I know Compound Genetics has the Menthol line, but has anyone continued any of those crosses further and focused on the minty terps?

Ive smoked a few different crosses out of the Menthol line up and they were nice, but i'd like a stronger mint terp.

The strongest mint terp I’ve grown was a strain called SnowLAnd. It’s LA Confidental crossed to SnowCap. Didn’t care for the menthol terps but it grew some fat colas.

Trainwreck comes to mind, it has a kind of menthol essence, but it's been a while and I might not be membering right. I wish I had some right now to taste test.

Not saying you're wrong, but I literally just smoked trainwreck a min ago lol and what I've got is straight pine.

Animal Face, Kush Mintz, Romulan, Candy Store (ethos), th seeds bubblegum......those are some strains that come to mind with minty terps, some moreso than others

I'm currently growing this Romulan Blueberry from Romulan Genetics and it smells like mint candy

Funny you mention TH Seeds bubblegum as he and Simon of Serious seedsstarted with the same mother and worked them different directions. I grow the Serious bubblegum and used to have a strain people describedtasting like toothpaste.

I only mentioned it from what I've heard is it's like minty gum....I never smoked or ran it....I opted for bubblegum s1 (csi) and got a pine flavor with a 100% bubblegum

Well it's not pure menthol terps, but hashberry from mandala is primarily menthelated with a citrus tone on the back end. Closest I've found to what you are describing.

CSI Humboldt's Durban Poison mom is almost pure menthol/terpinolene. Loud as hell and non volatile terps that last. Kind of herb you could find a nug under the couch a year later and it still stinks. Pretty sure he has S1's.

I got some train wreck from a shop in Oakland in like 2006 or 2009 and it was definitely menthol. Not my kinda of smoke.

Can I ask how old the seeds were? I grew a couple of packs of Hashberry back in the mid/late 2000's, didn't find a single plant with menthol or citrus terps. They were all very hashy/sweet and heavy yielding. Wondering if something has changed since then with the breeding stock, if so it would be good to know that they are no longer the same. Thanks!

Interesting...I got seeds last year and only grew out 2 females. Both tasted pretty much the same with one just being a little muted compared to the other. I was surprised by the taste and smell as I was expecting a more fruity hashy smoke just like mandala and your description. Only 2 plants so take it for what it is. Both were stretchy indicas that stacked with hard dense nugs. I reviewed it somewhere in here let me find it.

Hashberry
I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of these plants growing, but I can tell you all about my experience with them. I have run a couple in the hoophouse. Wide "indica" leaf type with a heavy side branching structure. Has exhibited variable stretch in the beginning of flower of 1-2x. Insanely dense nugs that stack heavy on every node with a stench of oranges, berries, camphor, and a pinch of spicy/earthy/hashy. Variable bud rot/mold resistance mostly due in part by bud density. Variable PM resistance as I have had plants getting slapped by PM right next to another that might have a spot or two. I will say though that live extractions of hashberry yielded great amounts of terp sauce. This is a straight hashplant from Kashmir. Pictures are from FT hoophouse grown 100% organic. After looking back at this I guess the camphor is really strong. To me it is really close to menthol. What does everyone else think about the differences between camphor and menthol?

My roommate has a pheno of THSeeds bubblegum regs and the front forward note is a dead ringer for orbits bubblemint. More true mint terps rather than menthol. I'd believe it if that white label has it too. Merlin's Tonic from norstar also has a minty/eucalyptus herbal gum note

Grew some mexican back in the late 90's that had a newport type menthol flavor. Wish I still had seeds for it. Would have been an interesting line to mess with.
