well i looked into it a bit and its not exactly a bud expander but more a hormone to force the plant to produce more growth at budsites, works well. i havent done a side by side though ;) airpots are genius inventions roots grow as nature intended outwards not roundwards those i have done side by sides on and hobbes is currently trying to make a DIY version

It got me curious so I had to check it out to see what the makers claim it does.

i did some looking myself n found this.

Shooting Powder is nothing more than Mono Potassium Phosphate in powdered form. So is Grotek Monster Bloom and a few other PK boosters. Grotek Monster Bloom is 0-52-34 which just so happens to be the NPK of raw Mono PK powder. Grotek charge a fortune for a tub but you can buy the mono potassium phosphate powder for a tenth the price from Aquarium shops and chemical suppliers. I paid 4.99 inc shipping for a kilo from ebay a while back. Last time I checked Monster Bloom was nearly 50ukp for a 150g tub!

I say don't buy the boosters like Monster Bloom and Shooting Powder because they are outright stealing from us charging the prices they do for what is just a raw salt.

PK13-14 is Mono potassium phosphate plus phosphoric acid, which is why it drops ph as phosphoric acid is also used as ph down.

That is normal business procedure. You find something where you can purchase your materials as inexpensively as possible, combine them, give it a keen sounding name, charge the maximum amount possible for it and then market the Hell out of it and if you do that well, someone will purchase it.

As P.T. Barnum said; “There's a sucker born every minute.”

As W.C. Fields said in "You Can't Cheat An Honest Man; "My boy, you can't cheat an honest man. Never give a sucker an even break and never wise up a chump."

All words a shrewd businessperson lives by.

This happens to folks with nice grows producing great buds alot around here. I've gotten requests from 3 people since I've been around the site...Just don't respond to it and immediately report the message.

I agree with Top Brick about the 1-3 day period of night before harvest. There are many scientific articles and journals on the topic and it is a proven benefit. If you had a machine to calculate THC levels, it would verify that there is an increase, however other than that, our eyes are tuned for that type of thing, however our minds are tuned for the difference in the high. I use on medicinal basis so I do notice the increase in potency when given a 1-3 day dark photoperiod. I am not going to scrounge the internet looking for articles, I also have some information on that in a number of my books. I just suggest those that are unsure to do some reading up on it. It does work. No harm in doing some of your own research, right? =]

i wonder if the drying in a dark room and curing/storing in a dark area would also have the same effect? did the buds without the 2-3 day dark phase, after drying and curing still contain less thc than the other plants? or did they not check that? i would imagine that the tests where conducted using freshly harvested plants, perhaps even still wet, and were they accounting for any "unactive, non converted thc/thca"? :leaf:

I'm in week 9 bloom on a 9-10 wk strain, and am waiting on her to finish , to speed things up a little and make her more frosty I have already put her in total darkness for 3 days and when I'm satisfied again I will repeat till harvest, so i could put her in darkness a couple of times but only in the last weeks before the chop, it always brings amber out in the trics and turns the rest that are not quite ready READY !.

wow ive never heard of doing it like that, let me get this strate, the last 2 weeks you do 4 days normal 12/12 light 3 days dark? and then repeat?
