harvesting in 3 stages ?

hi so looking like the light penetration hasnt been amazing this grow and wondering if i take the top branches and leave the lower parts is that ok or do i have to take the wole stalk coming off the main branch as i feel id be losing a whole lot of bud as i never really lollypopped my 2 indica strains and they have a whole lot of bottom growth anyway was planning a 3 stage harvest is this doable or likely to cause shock or anything

Yes it is fine to harvest in 3 stages just lob off the mature sections including buds from the end stalks but try to be clean, quick and efficient. While we do want to save a leaf where possible we also don't want to cut anymore than need be. Watch for little banana looking things forming on the buds that's a small possibility when harvesting in stages we call those nanners they are pollen without the sack. Lastly and most important if it's not a lot of weight or it's terribly underdeveloped buds you might want to just skip it because while taking a good week or two more this only matures the buds up, maybe a little more thc production which is a little weight but certainly not a lot more weight. This of course is my experiences your mileage may vary.

id thought this and its first grow but know theres good trich production on even the lower budsides so was just gonna use em for some bubblehash along with my trim so thought it best to develop them a little and the nanners was what i dont want ideally but aslong as most the main buds are off i couldnt really care as id of only thrown the rest away

Yeah just kick them to the side to make room for other plants and let them finish it will make great hash
