another option would be to spray with a saturation mix of baking soda and water. or a bordeax mixture could help too. the baking soda mix will dry to a fine powder on the leaf and change the surface ph to 7 and powdery mildew can no grow.
Similarly...I use a modified "Cornell Formula", and would use it up till harvest if the RH was low enough. To one Gallon tap water...1T baking soda, 1T Hemp seed oil (Can-ola, Maz-ola, olive oil etc) and 1T Br. Bronner's Hemp-peppermint oil soap (bugs hate this shit)...shake the piss out of it and spray as needed...Note I did n ot shake the spray bottle first and got more baking soda which left visible residue on leaves in veg...seems to be holding it back better so maybe more baking soda?
You can spray with it tap water.Don;t breath it in....
I think this works if the pH is high enough...my water used to be 7.6 and in the last couple of months it has dropped to 6.5
Any opinions on Cannabutter with mildew?
I was thinking this morning about all the talk about it being very harmful to smoke PM bud due to the spores getting in your lungs and causing problems or people who have allergies and the shape of the spore which binds with histamine receptors of the allergic and could cause death...
I was reading where someone actually had some rational thought on this and reminded those in the debate that PM is ubiquitous in the environment...along with many other mold spores, bacteria and yeasts. they are on us and everything we touch and eat.
Now while inhilation of the spores in their natural and viable state may very well be harmful...incinerating them undoubtedly changes the shape (denatures the proteins) of the spore making it simply the pieces of what was once whole. Likewise eating it should do the same if in fact it is the shape that is what causes a release of histamines.
I also think that PM may not be the same as the smelly mold that grows on wet cut bud. It seems to be specific to live plant matter and is not visable to the naked eye (after looking at my trim bag) after drying completely....makes me wonder how much PM I have smoked in 25 years
Disclaimer: While I do have a degree in Bio...I am really thinking aloud here...don't go kill yourself with PM on my dribble!
