Harvest time?

Dont put any ph down into the water until you can tell what the ph is after you put it in, On the cheap ph tester kits it all coded by colour ,so you pour some of your water into the test tube and one drop of ph tester in and shake it will change colour and you will see from the chart on the tester bottle where you are at.

I dont know what ph down brand you have or how strong it is, But if you say your water without being ph'd down is at 7. to 7.1 then you will only need like a tiny drop (as in one drop of ph down) to 2 litres of water . I mean like not even a tear drop amount half a tear drop , If you have a pip you can control it so only one drop goes into the two litres of water .
It will effect the plant if your ph is different at every watering thats why I am saying dont do anything until you can for certain say what the ph is , Once you can test what it is then its easy to do the same thing at every watering.

Just wanted to share pictures of my violator kush with you all and to see if people can estimate how long till harvest (winner get's a smiley face)

The facts:
Lights - CFL
Seed popped through soil - 8 weeks ago
Switched lights - 4 weeks ago
Early signs of sex - 2 weeks ago
Nutes - bio bizz, haven't had any major problems with nutes so no stunted growth or anything and she is growing fast (yay!)

My guess is 4-5 weeks.

What do you think ?

Eh, I'd say a little longer than 4 or 5 weeks buddy. Especially using CFL bulbs. Even the high wattage ones.. the problem is, is you just don't get the lumens that would get from HPS or MH lighting.

Also, she might be growing fast right now.. but almost all strains have their 'slow times' where they creep to an almost complete stop. When this happens, don't panic.. just give the plant time and she'll pick her speed back up.

But yeah, I would say your looking at anywhere between 7 to 8 more weeks buddy.

good luck!

Actually i'm going to buy some molasses now, what forms does it come in ? just checked my local health food website and they only have the softgel things, so was looking at this on e-bay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Meridian-Organic-Blackstrap-Molasses-350g-/370534170170?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Food_SM&hash=item56458ebe3a - is that the right thing ? is it a powder or liquid ?
You want the unsulfered Molasses. It's a jelly/honey like liquid. best way i can describe it.

Okay so i was looking at this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320749943748&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en for molasses, don't know if it's unsulfered or not :s people have said get 'black strap molasses' guess i'll e-mail the seller and ask, but is it too late to start using molasses since I'm a month into flowering is the plant still going to benefit from it ?

Paddywhacker - i do have a ph meter, just not a digital one. It's an analog one if that means sense. Next time i water it i'll have a go at doing the ph

Best of luck with it anyway newbefactor I'll be watching to see how it all turns out in the end , Havent used any molasses so cant help out there, I tend to just stick to the bio bizz grow, Flower and top max. On the plus side growing in soil is much more forgiving so if you mess something up you can always flush the hell out of the soil and start again.
I was using a 400 watt light to flower them out so if it took me 8-9 weeks to flower most of mine and ur using cfls (re-read your post) then I would say your looking at the end of 9 weeks before your done. I will drop by again to see how your getting on with the molasses , On average I got about 4oz off each plant some more some less but I grew them near six foot but it should give you an idea of what you will get at the end of all the hard work !!!!

Thanks mate, just ordered my molasses since i've read they can help a plant out a lot. From the time scale you said i should have about 5 weeks left then, but i'll post new pic's each week. At the moment i'd be happy with a 1/2oz from her lol

It's not too late to start using molasses.
The different grades have to do with refinement I think, and sulphered molasses
fortifies the calcium, magnesium, and iron, which may, or may not benefit your plants.
Blackstrap is the byproduct of the third boiling of the syrup.
The unsulphered right off the store shelf stuff will do the trick.

I ordered some blackstrap stuff as i couldn't find any unsulphered stuff, but i read either blackstrap or unsulphered should do the trick. Be interesting to see how the plant reacts to it as i've never used it before.

Little update for you about my kush :D had a ph problem few days ago ph dropped to below 5, manged to sort that out she doesn't look stressed from it. Got my molasses now but haven't given her any yet. How much should i mix in a litre of water ?
Also some of the older leaves are dying off but i know that's normal but the steam has some purple in it is that any cause for concern ?
I was smelling her up close and she kinda smells like an expensive coffee. I've included some pics cos i know you lot love them :D View attachment 1784394View attachment 1784395View attachment 1784396View attachment 1784397View attachment 1784398View attachment 1784399View attachment 1784400View attachment 1784403View attachment 1784404
