Harvest time?

Then why do so many articles say that it is highly recommended to flush before harvest?
Because many of those articles link to flushing products where they get a referral fee if you buy. Most are written by people that have no actual background in plant science and may or may not have actually grown a cannabis plant. Much of what you read is just copy/paste from other articles on the web.

I have noticed that some articles are very similar to one another. Are bud spacing and defoliation also bro science and not needed?

My opinion

If you start adding nutes to Fox Farm I'd keep my pH kinda in line.
It probably buffers, but that said,Fox Farm in every way is a challenge all in it's own
I agree 100% on that. I use the trio along with beastie Bloomz and cha Ching. And I am always battling high ph in the soil and runoff along with high ppms. I do my best to get it under control. I mean my plants look good so far so I must be doing something right haha!

Most of that is born of people trying to stretch limited lighting

I light up like the sun and look for strains that have low leaf buds
Eh then I guess I’ll keep doing those things cause I don’t grow outdoors and indoors I use a marshydrotsw2000 310w from wall for 2 plants in a 3x3

Ph control in ffof will fluctuate over time and it will exhaust some nute strength as well. One could “ charge “ their mix with ffof ( tea ) ( on bag ) or top dress . You can also scratch in a dry fertilizer to top soil and water in to help carry medium.

i use FFOF in blended mixes also - and find after week 2-3 of flower it needs some recharge. Even tho ffof is prebuffered ( oyster shell ) i always make sure my water and or feed is ph matched to it. Regardless of said buffering….. it makes sense to monitor what i put in over what comes out. Interval top dressing helps.

Ph of FFOF / LW / HF is 6.3 - shoot for 6.5-6.7 ( allowing for ph drift ) then you are set …. No special water necessary just the range of what you put in.

Lastly throw that flush bullshit out window.
When the last weeks of flower are for sure coming , water plant as normal , medium and plant reserves will still carry it to end. Nothing special…..

But agree on FF TRIO …. Way too much under most use . There are better lines to use ….

Megacrop / GH Maxibloom ( can run this alone thru entire grow ) , Dr. Earth / Jacks / etc.

This is my first grow so I went with synthetic nutrients. Possibly next grow il still use FFOF but I’ll only add in organic nutrients.
I usually water with a ph of 6.1-6.2. Earlier in the grow I was doing 6.5ph but the ph of the runoff was always 6.8 or even 7. So now that I water with 6.1-6.2ph the runoff is around 6.3-6.5 which is where I want to be.
But you think I should measure just what I put in? Which I do. And not runoff? What about soil ph? Is that important to check?
