Harvest time? (with pictures)

Clear trichomes and amber trichomes tend to have different effects. Clear trichomes tend to have more of an energetic high, where as dark/amber trichomes are more of a couchlock high. Harvest when you prefer!

Tricomes look frosty and white, buds look swollen, I'd say its time to harvest. Plant is beautiful, nice job. Good luck!

Personally, listening to the trich development and looking at the plant it is too early to chop. Understand what Althor is saying but believe this is generally an exception to the rule. This plant although looking very beautiful does not yet look ripe. I think the leaf colour is not due to the plant becoming ready but other factors. I would wait, the hairs need to recede more into the buds and turn reddish/brown more. If you do wait just ensure you have good airflow to the bud sites, and chop after a min 12 hour period of darkness. Your call.

There not ready you got sum time yet IMO, but it's up to you.

Couple of questions
1st - What are the consequences of harvesting too early? I've read that it's a different sort of high, but others disagree and state it's just a degree of how much THC is present.

2nd - Is it best to harvest after the dark period and if so why? Does it have to be an extended dark period, i.e. longer than the normal 12 hours it's set to at the moment?

1. the buzz will be slightly more racey and heady if you cut early. if you cut late it will be slightly more stoney.
keyword being slightly.
2. yes. light degrades thc. thc production peaks during the dark cycle. how long in dark is debatable, at the very least try to cut as soon as you can to light coming on. personally, I give my plants 3 days darkness.

Thanks althor. I checked them again this morning and some of the buds still seem to be expanding out with new growth, so I'm going to leave them a few more days. It doesn't seem to make sense to cut them if they're still growing. Good to know though it's not an issue if I did cut them now.
