Harvest Time Draweth Nigh. Having questions.

I know this sounds very lame but I have forgotten what week of flowering I am on. I know it has been at least 5 weeks could maybe be 7. Im lame.

I've been watching and waiting and I see (though a magnifying lens) that the trichomes are still clear. I am afraid that the time to harvest is going to come too soon and I am not going to have enough time to run a clean cycle.

I also have an issue with purple leaves appearing. I have read that it is due to a phosphate deficiency. I went ahead and totally flushed the system and ran all new water and nutes. the purple faded but came back.

Any ideas on what I should do? Should I just harvest now? The trichomes are very populous on the buds.

It doesn't look ready to me, closer up pics would help. I think the purple leaves could just be the strain

closer pic would help but it looks like your almost to week 7 looks great keep it going another week and a half +

Just check them everyday if you can, and you should be fine.

Just a little something I stole from google ;)

"You can cut small buds from your plant to test them, you want to concentrate on the stalked glandular trichomes. The coloration of the gland heads can vary with different strains and maturity, but most start with clear or slightly amber heads that gradually become cloudy or opaque when THC levels have peaked and are beginning to degrade. Regardless of the initial color of the trichomes, with careful observation you should be able to see a change in coloration as maturity levels off. Some cultivators wait for about half of the trichomes to go opaque before harvesting to ensure maximum THC levels in the finished product. However, you will also want to try samples at various stages to see what is best for you. While you may be increasing the total THC level in the cannabis by allowing half of the glands to go opaque, there will also be a larger percentage of CBN, which is why some people choose to harvest earlier while most of the trichomes are still clear."

alright, i put a magnifying glass up to my camera phone and took this picture. It shows the trichomes pretty good. Let me know what you think.

I would cut a bud off and try it but (PLEASE DO NOT BLAST ME) I have never smoked before and wouldn't know if it was ready or not. This was a hobby of curiosity and not because I wanted to grow my own supply. I plan on smoking some when all is done but most will be given to my friends.

I would wait a little longer. I usually harvest when about half the trichomesare amber in color. They still look white in your picture.

when the trichs start turning amber it means that its decreasing in THC. i've done a couple experments with harvesting at different times and the best high for me is when you see about 10% amber 90% milky. but its all a personal choice.
