Harvest Time!! Documented with closeups!

Hey all! I am getting ready to chop 3 plants in a week or so and I plan to document it here. All questions, comments or suggestions are welcome.

Planting Date … 7/13/2014
Total Growing Days … 91
Total Veg Days … 30
Changed to 12/12 … 8/12/2014
Total Flower Days ... 61

Today marks 61 days of flowering and these plants are all advertised as 60 days. They are getting close but I think I will wait another week to chop. They are getting nice and frosty but the trichs are still too clear today. I plan to document the harvest too with plenty of photos so stay tuned. It won't be much longer!!

This is a 4 ft X 2 ft tent. It is hard to tell in the photo but these colas are large....the largest is the bubba kush cola at the rear. It is at least 14" tall and as round as my forearm. I topped the plants for 4 colas. All 3 plants produced 4 main colas but I already accidently broke off 2. There are other colas too that don't show in the picture because they are behind the other ones. The Desert Diesel looks more like a sativa. It also produced a lot of secondary colas as you can see in the photo.

This was a cola from the Desert Diesel that I broke and has been hanging for 4 days drying. I am seeing a lot more amber trichs compared to when it was first broken.

Wet weight of the total number? Which maximum strain? Why not let them grow for two months it?

The stem snapped on the desert diesel cola so I trimmed it off of the large stem, weighed and bottled it. IT was 17.5gr or .6 oz.

The best producing strain I am growing is the Bubba Kush. It is also the frostiest looking.

This is the Desert Diesel cola after snipping the buds off of the stem. It will be several days before I harvest the rest.

Looks awesome, I suggest you try the next AUTOMAZAR, it has to be almost the same time.

Thanks guys/gals. The waiting right now is tough.. I wanta chop NOW!!! I'm going to try to to wait until I see a few more amber trichs this time though. They are still bulking up with trichs and I am after some fine quality this round.

They are getting frostier every day...

Jad3.. the smell great right now!! ...a little different smells from each variety but they all blend together when I open the tent flap.

The tallest colas are on the Desert Diesel. These 2 have grown up to my circulating fan.

Great plant!! you are right generally it takes a plant 2- 2.5 mo's to harvest (exceptions Sativa's strains)

Thanks Harris Hawk... glad you stopped by! These plants are advertised to flower in "as little as 60 days" but that's just a rough estimate. So many things can influence when they are ready and prime. I am going to keep checking the trichs... hopefully I can start chopping by the weekend.

The flower "times" are a good reference point for harvest

Yep, it looks like a week or so more to me too now. My biggest cola looked mature but it was in the back of my tent so I couldn't check the trichs.... long story short...I cut it today and no....it wasn't quite ready yet....
Sigh...... I guess I'll just throw it away.

A lot of trichs but no visible amber yet.

Great looking would start to think about harvest (Generally it takes 2-2.5 mo's for a plant to harvest, with exception to Sativa strains and some hybrids) Now it's you personal choice if what you want out of your plant a "head" high or "body" high? (cloudy, amber colored tic's) Very good pictures!!!

Can I ask what you are doing to capture those excellent trich pictures? What hardware are you using?

Hey HH! I always have a hard time deciding when to harvest. One minute I'm ready to do it now, the next minute I think I should wait a week. It seems to me that my stored nugs get more of a body high as they get older so cutting when mostly clear/cloudy may be best for me. I may try to cut the big tops this weekend if I have time, then let the large lower nugs mature a little more direct lights.

Hi John. Thanks for the compliment on the pics. The good trich pics are a combination of good hardware, software(photoshop and lightroom), a lot of studying and trial and error.

Photography is my new hobby. I went overboard on the hardware.. got a Nikon d7100 SRL camera and borrowed a 40mm macro lens from a friend. Then I had to get an LED light ring to go around the lens and a tripod. When I take a closeup like that I have to use a remote trigger and stand very still because of the magnification and with the adjustments I have to make the camera has the lens open for several seconds with absolutely no movement. Then I pick though the pics for the best one and use photoshop to sharpen and enhance the colors.

I sort of over enhanced this one. It is a closeup of the premature Desert Diesel cola I dried and bottled. It has only been bottled for a few days but now I can find a lot more amber trichs than I could before it was hung and dried.

I can see some amber trics at the top, toward the right. Great looking buds though, really like the look of the BK.
