hey this is my first grow with my sativa ive heard sativas take about 9 weeks to flower. Today is my 9th week but i cant tell all i got is a 2x 4x magnifying glass with a light as far as i can see i dont see any amber trichomes i think they are all cloudy though. idk i cant f*cking see with this stupid glass, lol.
You think 9 weeks is long enough? should i chop her?

A sativa grown outdoors can take 12 weeks to mature...since you are growing a sativa and not an indica amber trichs aren't what you are shooting for...amber trichs on a sativa indicates the closing of your window of maturity...to get that head high associated with a sativa dominant strain, shoot for cloudy trichs. they can't be seen clearly with a 2x magnifier(unless you have incredible eye sight)...go to radio shack they have a 60-100x pocket microscope for only about $12 it is the only way to realistically gauge your harvest time in the 21st century good luck!!!

I wouldn't go by the magnifying glass, after all the time spent waiting , you don't want to make a mistake in the home stretch! It's worth spending the 12 bucks at Radio Shack to get one of those hand held microscopes, so you know for sure.:peace:

If you live in an area where the weather is quickly turning cold(like it is here) and you are worried about loosing your girl to frigid temperatures then go to lowes and buy a large bag of organic mulch...when you mulch a marijuana plant like a tropical plant, the mulch acts as an insulator to keep those precious roots warm( keep your roots warm!!!)...on really cold nights, below 45 degrees wrap a bed sheet around the plant as well...do not put wrap your plant in plastic...just like animals plants need oxygen to survive and wrapping plants with plastic over a prolonged period of time can sufficate your plant, and if your plant has gotten wet, the plastic can cause your buds to begin to mold!!! In the past i've bought those hand warmers from walmart for less than a dollar, if you are really worried about those really cold nights put the warmers in with the mulch it ensures that the roots will stay warm all night.
