Harvest Right Medium Sized Freezer with V5.1.23 and up

What is up everyone. So. I'm annoyed. I'm trying to freeze dry my hash with the harvest right freeze dryer I bought. Upon looking online for a S.O.P for freeze drying bubble hash, I could only find harvest right videos with older versions of the software it seems. That, or I don't have the right version. I emailed Harvest Right and their HR rep gave me a few programs I was supposed to be able to swap between, however, when uploading both I still had the same operating screen I started with. The Versions DID change- what I don't know.

So I took a risk and tried freeze drying my hash. I may have fucked up the process at night because I interrupted it, I still have some cured hash. It's not grainy and sand like. but it does seem water free. just mailable.

So: I assumed I had the same parameter settings as the older version, with just more options. So, for my Harvest Right freezer with the V5.1.23 I set this parameter: [I also had the tray of hash in a sub freezer all day]: initial freeze: 0F extra freeze time:9hours and Dry temp 45f for 11 hours. I had it to these settings because of a low temp video I saw on youtube that suggested their "Shelf temperature" set to 50 and the dry time was set for 11 hours. Basically freeze time was 9 hours and I set my dry temp for 45 for 11 hours of extra waiting time.

For those who are savvy, would this be a correct way of freeze drying bubble hash with the version of Harvest Right I own? or do I need to downgrade. Thank you!

One of the episodes of Adam dunn show had a hash maker on. I recall him saying how you need to get a harvest right tech to download and install the good software. Seems a bit frustrating that it isn’t good out of the box. They cost so much you would think they would fix it before shipping it out.

I'm running into the same issues. The software is so new, nobody knows how to correctly set it. I just got mine a week or so ago and I can't find anything that tells me how to adjust the dry time or if I even need to.

Was your hash terpy? Did the flavor survive the process? Did you press it? If so, how'd that turn out?

Hey man,
I'm thankful that someone else has this same dilemma- I swear I thought I was losing my mind for a second. So anyway, I tried looking for a formula that could relate to our problem, and all I found was this youtube video that was published a while back [a year or two]. It's a Low Temp Plates video, but you can see that on their old software, they set the "Shelf Temp" to around 50 degrees, and have the freeze time set for 9 hours freeze and 10 hours drying.

BTW Apparently there are pharmaceutical versions and commercial versions available on their website- they apparently had the pharma. I didn't know this was an option when choosing a model- I thought it was just the sizes that were different. But the HR reassured they could get me a software that could help. I tried the first time but it didn't seem to change much. I also called their tech support, to which they gave me ANOTHER series of programs to apparently upload, but the fact is: I already don't know the parameters I need in general. I could be downloading snake oil when I didn't need it.

So on my settings I plugged in: "Initial Freeze time: -10f" for 9 hours and "Drying temp: 45f" for 10. I got a uneven outcome. Theres scent, theres color of light opaqueness, and when I try to dab it I feel something but definitely a tickle to the nose. I haven't pressed it yet. Not too much liquid came out of the valve either in the back of the unit.

It KIND of worked: one sift was the sandy separated look we need, but the second large clump is still mailable like hash normally would. Maybe it'd work better if the material was thinner, but my hash was STICKY. I didn't plan accordingly.

dude honestly I tried that same thing. First HR rep gives me a series of software to download unto a flash drive and install on the dryer. I don't know why I was so sketched out by the whole process. And then the program didn't even work! so then they had to direct me to a Technician who gave me like another 5 programs to download. It sucked. I still haven't checked the second series of software.

SO! I believe my process is fucked due to the software on my freeze dryer. I BELIEVE with the one source of information I found online: My freeze dryer needs to reach at least -40f in freeze mode. I can only do -20f right now. I also have a series of software I got from the Tech. If it works, I will gladly post them here. If I can- unless it's a no no I don't know about.
