Hey, question for you: I've got 3 girls going right now in a 4x4 tent. Two of them are looking like they've got a couple weeks left, while the third is looking like she's got closer to 3-4. Here's the dilemma..I dry in the same tent. Should I let the 2 go a little longer or just bite the bullet on the 3rd and harvest all 3 at the same time??Thanks for all the love guys! You know I mostly hang around here still just to help out when I can. When I found RIU there were lots of great growers that helped me learn over the years both about growing and about dealing with people, so I try to pass on the love and info I can. The life I live and friends I have literally wouldn't exist if it wasn't for RIU so it'll always have a warm spot in my heart.
To the OP you have ATLEAST 4-5 weeks left before you should even be thinking about looking at the trichomes or harvesting, its not showing any signs of maturity as a whole plant. Any of those amber trichomes you are seeing now where either damaged or just some of the very first trichomes formed. You want to wait until your plant is showing you multiple signs of maturity before you even think about looking at trichomes, because frankly trichomes are tricky to read unless you REALLY know what you are looking at.
Right now just keep your girl happy and healthy. Some sativa dom hybrids plants will take 12-14 weeks, so just sit back, smoke a bowl and enjoy the process. No matter what you've read, most plants need at least 10 weeks, and there are VERY FEW plants that will finish in 8 like the breeders claim.
There's no way they matured since the last pics I saw. You have weeks left. Be patience is the only advice I can give.
They most definitely have lol this original post was 2 weeks ago lol They've actually packed on quite a bit and one of them has started showing a pinkish hue (Temps are getting low and I sleep with my window cracked lol), so I'm forever grateful that I didn't chop when I originally posted. Two of them have roughly 2 weeks left I'm thinking, MAYBE a little more, but idk how to handle the 3rd, which is showing more like the original post. Idk if I should extend the 2 for the sake of one, or if I should sacrifice the 1 when then other two are ready
Cold temps will cause purpling in some strains. Do you have a new pic?
Yeah, that's why I was looking forward to the lower temps in my area; I enjoy the colors lol Unfortunately, I dont right now. This thought didn't cross my mind until they went to sleep for the night. Situationally speaking though, would you extend the flower time on the two or "sacrifice" the one?? This would actually help me out going forward, because with my limited amount of space, I'll be running multiple strains from here on out. I've got it in my head that 10 weeks is the minimum, but I also know that some like to go longer...so knowing what do in a situation like this will help me out exponentially.
Wait the 2 weeks. It's hard to chop too late, but easy to chop early.

That’s a tough call, are you sure that’s the only option you have for drying? Is there possibly a closet you might be able to use until the crop is ready. Really I would wait for the next two weeks and then reevaluate. Take some more pictures before you harvest anything and post them here and we can take a look.
Yeah unfortunately that's really my only option; I live in an apt and need to contain the smell. But will do! Thank you!
