Harvest now or leave!!?? Help????

Guys eveything has gone to shit last 2 weeks I had a catterpila problem which I thought I could sort with picking them off and soapy water but fuck was I wrong!!!! Now I'm still finding them but there killing my little buds there dying!!! Also the stress from them is turning her herme!!!! I cut 3 bud sites off today on the worst branch to find 5 seeds inside!!!! Like guys I need help so bad do I harvest tonight do I leave her 24 hours in darkness to try mature her quickly or do I leave her please help guys

If you are still losing the battle with those critters, I would harvest, get what I could now and start over. You will get a more sativa like buzz - pretty racy as opposed to more couch lock - that might smooth out a little after curing.

Thanks for your reply mate.... My problem is she's turning herme due to stress I don't think it's hit in full force yet just a few lower bud sites having the odd seed im gutted.. I'll have a good read of that article now think I'm losing the battle tho and feel like if I leave her she's going to be full of seeds. So sad

If your growing for personal use why does it matter as this point. Just let it go. Let it get seeded. Smoke the weed when it is done.

It's for personal but still I don't want to be picking out shit loads of seeds every time I want a smoke. How long does this process take to fully turn her with seeds

Picking seeds out does suck...but not as much as paying 200-400$ for an ounce.

You probably got around 2 weeks left, maybe 3. Not sure if it seeding will slow down the process.

I'd be more worried about figuring out how your space got contaminated. Those girls are inside based on the pictures....gotta prevent it from happening again. What are you doing for intake for the space? Got a screen over it?

Also- do you have any pictures of the critters or did you already identify them?

Fuck caterpillars. Don't even get me started on those little fuckers.

I'll address the hermie part below, for now I'll tell you how to not only deal with the caterpillars but make those fuckers suffer.

Habanero spray; or some other type of hot pepper. Boil hot peppers in water, strain the liquid, dilute it (1 pint habanero water, 7 pints water) and spray the fuck out of your plants with it 2-3 times a day. You can do this until the last 48 hours of flowering with zero negative effects.

The caterpillars will literally starve, eating the habanero spray will straight kill them, so they're left with the choice of either starving to death or dying from eating the habanero spray. I've lost pounds upon pounds to those fuckers in my day, and have zero shame when it comes to killing them.

Spray religiously until the last 2-3 days before chop.


Now, as for the "hermies".

There is a common misconception between plants "turning hermie". A true hermaphrodite is a plant that literally has both male and female sex organs; a hermaphrodite plant will have both pistils and pollen sacks.

What you likely have are simple bananas; which is actually a VERY normal thing for a stressed out female plant. You see, a female plant put under enough stress will actually grow bananas because the plant believes it is nearing death. So, the plant makes a last ditch effort to quite literally "spread its seed", will grow bananas for the purpose of pollinating some of the buds.

This can actually be a bit of a blessing in disguise, truth be told. The pollen located in a banana is only enough to pollinate the buds around it, unless you have a shit ton of bananas popping out then your entire crop will NOT be seeded. Though some buds definitely will have seeds, but these seeds are gold! These seeds will be feminized seeds (like the parent).

My advice? Pick all of the bananas that you can find, just pluck them gently with tweezers. You definitely won't get all of them, but most of them can be found with the naked eye. Then, upon harvest and smoking be vigilant for seeds.

Don't trip, your entire harvest is not lost in the slightest.

tl;dr: Spray with habanero spray until 2-3 days before chop, and pluck all the bananas you can find. Be on the lookout for seeds during trimming and smoking.

Hahaha you have no idea the smile I have on my face whilst I sit at working having a shit on the loo reading your amazing plans to kill these fuckers in a slightly vicious way I love it!!! Mate I never thought in my life I'd want to start a full life time war with catterpilas but these fuckers have pushed me to the edge soon as I'm back the boiling of hot peppers begins!! May have to nip the shop first haha... Seriously appreciate the reply... As you can see by the picture 3 of my lower branches clearly gave signs of seeds they are the fucked branches from the catterpilas tho..... whilst I don't see any on the top branches anywhere! Slow process that may catch the tops near the end?


I've started to take off all the little balls with seeds in very carefully there wasn't a shit load but enough to annoy me but then I read this and when you say there 100% female seeds I'm actually quite happy I fucking love stardawg it's why I decided to grow it and it's one strain I'd be happy to grow for years so these seeds have saved me a fair bit of money in the long run....... I'm definitely letting her run her course I've read stardawg is only an 8 week flower and I think I'm on week 6ish most the pistols are turning orange.. This is my first grow so my knowledge is lacking a bit haha
