To me, you can make do with any scissors, razor blades, latex or nitrile gloves don't really make a diff., but if you have more than a half ounce, my first thing would be to make sure you have a chair/ table combination that is comfortable so you don't get the kink in your back after 20 minutes, and a good bright overhead light so you're not straining your eyes.
I have 4 diff. pairs of scissors, a couple diff. razor blades and cutters, a can of brake parts cleaner to squirt off the nitrile gloves (does not work with latex gloves) in case I want to take a break or something.........
My bottle of Single Barrel, cigs and Zippo and ashtray close at hand.
The short garbage can for the stems, and a few paper plates to toss the 'done', 'almost done', 'aw fuck it-finish later', and the popcorn.
**Edit..........Forgot to mention, the auto program is already set, so I don't have to keep stopping every 30 mins to change channels.

I find my hand do cramp if i don't have proper trimming scissors, but I've put in very long days where it made a difference. If you only have a few hours of trimming, then scissors might not be a big deal. I also like to put something on the floor, like a tarp or some plastic to help make cleanup easier. I hang my trimmed bud on wire coat hangers to dry so I also set myself up with those and I hook up lines or a rack to hang them from. I also dry some of the smaller buds on a screen. I find it help full to have a tray on my lap as well, to help catch the leaves so I'm not covering myself. I just use the lid from a rubbermaid container for that. Good tunes ...essential!

I get some poor sap do to it for me for the trim.

Other then that..pro trim scissors, a mason jar full of alcohol, rag and some wire strung through out several large LCD TV cardboard boxes. ( I live in Colorado..so weed drys too fast if you just hang it )
And these boxes are excellent for hanging large colas, or string of colas.
Burp boxes until dry enough to start jar curing.

But I never harvest anymore...hate it..kills my wrists and back.

Like I said I just get some friend to do it for the trim. ( While I watch movies or game...I just supervise. )

I grow lbs and could care less about trim .

I am running out of friends though...

No link needed as the list is short and sweet and all of it easy to obtain or already at your disposal .. :weed:

1. Curved pruning shears or scissors if the first is not available .
2. A Chair and Table as mentioned for efficiency if trimming bulk .
3. Rope or coat hangers for hanging the buds or whole plants .
4. A Hygrometer along with a gentle fan .
5. A friend or two if following # 2
6. Last but not least you need Weed to trim

There we have the Professors magical items needed to trim weed or you could just buy a damn TrimPro :)

OMG! $53 bucks for a trim bin, WOW, I didn't even know they existed. I've been using a lid from a rubbermaid container and to think I could have invented that and be making $53 buck per bin...I gotta get on stuff like that, now I feel like a waste.
You're not a waste when you're bringing good bud to the world. :-P

Those "Fiskar 9921 Softouch Micro-Tip Pruning Snips" that BuCannabis suggested are some high quality snips and really can do the whole job for you, but having a larger pair does make it easier to cut bigger stems. The spring makes it easy on your hands for long trimming sessions, they are built solid and the blades stay sharp and true. I never trim without them.

Something that I'm definitely going to get before the next time I trim is either this heavy duty 2 screen dry sift set (http://www.bubblebag.com/dry-sift.php) or this set of 4 dry sift screens (
http://www.bubblebag.com/store/Dry-Sift-Screen-Set.html) to use as a trimming and collection table. I think its something worth looking into. I like the idea because you can collect the trichomes that fall while trimming more efficiently (and separate them at the same time!) because they fall directly on the final collection tray instead of collecting in a tupperware or trim bin then scrapping them out to transfer to another container. Does anyone have any experience with these screens or something similar for trimming?
