Harvest/cure PROBLEM, PLEASE HELP

Hey guys, I recently cut off a branch from my blue mystic plant, which im harvesting this weekend.
I then dried it for 4-5 days hanging up side down on string in a closet.
Then i put it in a rubber-sealed glass jar, in a dark are, BUT-------> IT SMELLS LIKE SHIT

IDK WHY BUT WHEN I OPEN THE JAR, IT SMELLS LIKE LEAFY-CHLOROPHYLL SMELL.
The bud itself is covered in orange hairs, crystally, and dense, but it smells like dead grass or something....

Didn't use any nutrients during this grow, 100% oraganic, but im having smell problems with my dried bud..

I need help/tips on how to prevent this, because the plant itself smells super dank, and is oily to the touch;
But when i picked a bud off, trimmed it, dried it, and cured it, it no longer has that smell, but a much weaker plant-matter ish smell....

PLEASE HELP IM FREAKING OUT LOL

That's the normal progression for me. Smells good on the plant. After dry it smells like hay. After cure back to smelling good.

Open the jar every day for about five minutes forthe first couple weeks then just pop the lid onand off for about a month, then Lo and behold wonderful smelling reefer. That's normal man.

pop the lid depending on how wet it still is... it can take 2-4 weeks for the hay smell to go away right now all the chlorophyll is evaporating and that is the smell you smell.. unless your bud is molding

Thanks guys I didnt know, when i harvest i will be drying the plant whole.

I'll be posting some night pics tomorrow but I also have another thread over my pre-harvest :)

THANKS :D

Generally for the first few days it will smell like that 'till the clorophyl. evaporates, once in the jar I add a hygrometoer to gauge the dryness of my buds I aim for 55 to 60%, once reach I can store it to cure usually for a month or more is best.

thats pretty much what i do... i got my shit down to 60 and popping the lid every 2 days(at this point in the cure) it started dropping under 60 today...

dry the plant whole.
I agree.

Anyone experiencing this needs to read my thread called A perfect dry... I am not trying to BS anyone but I use to get this all the time. And NO the smell will never be as good as it can be. Keep curing and keep waiting but it wont come back to that dank smell you were getting off your plant right before harvest. Ever notice how it smells so much more dank when you break it open or squeeze it? Yeah, well thats how it should smell as soon as you open the bag. Just bam! Smacks you in the face! Drying as a whole has helped me get that staank.

Again, I am not saying it cant be done trimming first. Im just saying for me it never works like I want it to

did you do a good flush at the end? that makes all the dif..... give um 5days of srt8 water b4 chop, trust me bet im rite... cause the branch u took was prolly still feeding on the nutes and hadnt been flushed at all
