Harvest Big Buds then on-grow the under canopy ???

Hi Guys , I recently read a blog where a experienced grower mentions cutting the best large dense buds off, then on-growing the under canopy , for sometimes up to two weeks . I never really considered doing this but it ( in my mind ) does seem to have potential merits . So does anyone do this and is it worth while ??? I do dwc and have very lush foliage , I defoliate mildly in flower to get some light thru the canopy but perhaps a second harvest after big budding is beneficial as there is usually heaps of nice nuggets that have grow in there , that would maybe kick on a bit !!! Thoughts people ???

I tried it last year with some laughing Buddha I think it was @Dr. Who who suggested it. (I haven’t seen him here in a while. I hope he’s ok). As I recall he said the second harvest buds could he higher in THC and that some on his client preferred it. It does complicate things in the drying room. This run I’m growing sativas and I’m pretty sure by the time the tops are ready I’ll be tired on looking at them and will chop them whole.
