That's an interesting science lesson.Iodine starch testing tell us starches stored in the leafs is used up through the dark period, who knows there could be something to it?
If you soak a leaf in solvent then put Iodine on it, it'll turn black if you do it before lights off, if you try it at lights on the leafs stays white/cream because there's no starch for the Iodine to bond to its been used.
I have harvested parts of my outdoor crop at night, with a red light. Incognito, and for no other reason. LolPretty sure outdoor growers are not harvesting in the dark - just sayin.
I have read that herbs like oregano, thyme and rosemary should be harvested early am. Something with the oils they say?is it ok to harvest at the end of light period or should I do it when it first comes on?
Read years ago that it was best to chop them in the dark for this very reason, when the light comes on the starches go shooting into the plant.Iodine starch testing tell us starches stored in the leafs is used up through the dark period,
That's interesting, it's logical, starch being present after the light comes on is science based its a fact, it's literally a test to check if photosynthetic has occurred.Read years ago that it was best to chop them in the dark for this very reason, when the light comes on the starches go shooting into the plant.
That's why a green light is useful in the growroomPersonally, I can't see in the dark, so I harvest with the lights on.
Wouldn't imagine so, would be interesting to see test results thoughWould you say it made a difference to the smoke?
Wear sunglasses at night - bumps the terps - heard it from a drunk priest.Personally, I can't see in the dark, so I harvest with the lights on.
