He is either a partisan douchebag or does what bank lobbyist tell him. Ill go with both. He ran his whole career on the platform of auditing the Fed from the eighties to 2010, now he plans on blocking the bill.

Congratulations you managed to blame the GOP for your Senate Majority leaders massive flip flop. Perhaps the greatest flip flop in history.

As usual I'm not defending the GOP, that's always a losing argument. I'm just saying that the Democrats aren't any better that's for sure. With Obama's great flip flopping leadership i'm not surprised his loser lieutenants follow his lead.

And guess what
The Fed has been audited and continues to be every year by an independant private accounting firm and the GAO
Only partially.

http://reason.com/blog/2012/07/25/ron-pauls-latest-audit-the-fed-bill-pass

The Fed's financial statements are audited annually, but the Fed's monetary policy operations are exempt from audit. Congress’ investigative arm, the Government Accountability Office (GAO), currently is prohibited by law from examining discount window and open market operations; agreements with foreign governments and central banks; and Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) directives. It is precisely this information that should be made public.....H.R. 459 allows GAO to audit the Fed’s monetary policy operations and directs GAO to report the audit results to Congress.

Compromise? You've got to be fucking kidding. Here's a perfect example of recent compromise between Progressives and Conservatives.

Progs: We want to increase the debt limit by $2.4 trillion dollars this year.

Cons: We want to cut the national debt by a measly $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years.

Profs: Ok, we'll settle for a $1.4 trillion increase this year.

Cons: That's unacceptable, we want to lower the deficit and you're still asking for a suicidal, massive increase. That's not compromise.

Main Stream Media Headline: Saintly Democrats offer fair compromise, Obstructionist Republicans refuse.

Then of course, under media pressure and pressure from a public that has been duped by endless parroting of the Progressive's position from the MSM, the Republican leadership caves. While the actual Conservatives in the party shake their heads in disbelief at the absurdity of it all.

That's compromise to a Progressive.

Didn't the house pass the bill by a large margin? Are there any democrats in the House?

Cutting the deficit in a depressed economy is suicide.
Total bullshit.

Look at every other country that's cut their deficit... Growth and a certain level of confidence.

Im glad we're cutting our deficit, will have it within 3% in the next 2 years. Hasnt hurt our economy?

I'd like to hear your reasons why, this should be interesting.
Cutting spending reduces growth and increases unemployment. This causes reduced revenues which increases the deficit causing more cuts, which long term causes further problems servicing debt(causing further cuts).

Lack of demand is driving the bad economy. I fail to see how reducing demand improves our situation.
