Uhhhh so much animosity in here....plants will do fine outside from seed to harvest. It's more about the climate you provide the roots than the outside enviroment. Keep the roots happy and the plants will grow anywhere happily.

Like I said, I have brought plants from CFLs to outside in 90+ F temp and they all grew into monsters. I even started seeds outdoors and they are fucking beasts. I can't kill them, they whoop my ass everytime I try.

ya hardening is nonsense i start seedlings outsise from day one and they fuckin thrive
u obviously didnt read the part of my post where i said starting outdoors from day 1 is different than starting them indoors first. the direct sun wont stress them if thats all they know, going from cool t5s which most people use for growing indoors will stress them if thrown out into direct sunlight. never did i say u cant do it that way... you could do a lot of stuff to marijuana that wont kill it doesnt mean that its good for it. like u can leave a baby in the car with the windows rolled down on a hot day while u go into the store, but is that right? i mean the baby is not gonna die, its a human we survived before a/c right? at the worst what happens? maybe a sunburn, start sweating real bad? nothin that a baby couldnt overcome but y make it suffer if it dont have to. see where im getting at? and i do all clones, no seeds. seeds are a lil more hardy than clones. try takin some clones fresh out the cloner and planting em in the ground n see how far that gets u. u guys can stress ur plants out all u want ill stick to minimizing stress and increasing yield. because nobody can argue that stress = decreased yield. find me someone who disagrees with that.

depending on how many hrs of light theyre getting indoors there is a possibility that they may start budding when u transplant outdoors if u go straight from inside to out.
The trick I learned this year is to give the plants supplemental lights from sundown to 12am. Do this 4-7 days, making sure they get OUTDOOR air and moonlight between 12 am and 6 am, and you will have no problem with your plants trying to bud.

ill tell u what, ill personally send u pics of, or atleast a link to pics of my finished plants in fall, and well see how badly my yield suffers from this, and also u think moving ur plants back and forth, a week straight under 2 different light sources does no amount of stress??

how would we be able to tell how much ur yield suffered by some pictures? u would have to have grown two plants with all the same variables except for one being hardened off and the other not and then see the difference in yield. i can send u some pics of all my grows as well but it wouldnt help explain my point in the least. and please tell me where i said i move my plants back and forth between two diff light sources? i said i dont throw them directly out into the sun... i gradually take them out of a shady spot in the yard to the direct sun. once my lights have been scaled back to 16hrs a day for about a week ill throw them outside but under a shade cloth, and thats where they will stay. once they've been outside for a week or so ill remove the shade cloth, unless of course its ridiculously hot then i will just leave it up until the weather cools. people on this thread seem to have a problem with not reading what i say before they speak on the subject.

Its called a weed for a reason, they can take the stress, what dosnt kill u makes u stronger, ive bought clones and stuck em straight out side , the only thing u dont wanna do is have that first day or 2 be scorching, keep em watered and theyll be happy. the stress from doing that only makes that fucker shoot in veg, if theres a difference in yeild, its grams if that, dont put skimpy plants outside might burn a good percentage of leaves and over stressing it like a baby in a car windoes rolled up in 120* weather for 6 hours. ive had a friend snap a plant to where there was only 4 branches, and it ended up being his biggest and most producing over the others of the same type and height, dont tell me stress makes your plant yeild less lol oh and i disagree with that mr.Marijuana420

this is all my opinion, none of what i say has been confirmed scientifically

its best to put them outside as soon as possible. the sooner they are out the more time they have to adapt to the conditions. also when they are small seedlings they shouldnt be in direct sunlight all day because in nature a seedling would be protected by shade from larger plants around it. they might be stressed from the change in conditions, but that stress will make them more resilient when they are older.

go read a fuckin book mr spartans... one of jorge cervantes' or ed rosenthal, shit pick any book thats written by a credible grower and i guarantee u it will say stress decreases yield. it can increase potency but tell me how if a plant gets stressed and doesnt grow for a few weeks how the yield wouldnt be hurt. if the plant wouldve gotten a foot taller if not for the stress it would have a foot more of bud... crazy how that works huh? please find me a way to stress a plant that makes it grow faster and i will try it. when a plant gets stressed from whatever whether it be moisture, heat, transplant, whatever... it uses its energy to try to fix itself and therefore very little if not none is being used for new growth. no new growth = no new bud site. crazy how that one works too huh?

tried it, definitely didnt increase yield. i honestly didnt notice a difference in yield between the ones i didnt. the supercropped ones were just shorter and bushier as opposed to taller and lanky.

Ummm sounds like u just dont know what ur doin then sacboy. Also u want me to show u a way to increase yield without stressing out ur plants how bout I throw this one at u LST, damn the name even says Low Stress. And by saying that Rosenthal advises against stressing ur plants because u'll lose yield is B.S too, I've read one of the 1st grow guides he wrote and he talks about experiments with MJ and shoving needles or nails or sumptin thru the base of a plant to see what happens. So don't misrepresent someone else in ur posts cause those guys love to screw around just to c what'll happen.

ed rosenthal never said stress increases yield, if u actually read that book (like i have) you would know he said that it increases potency. the only way ive ever heard to increase potency thru stress without decreasing yield is to black out your plants for two days before u pull em. it has no affect on yield since the plants are at full maturity anyways and supposedly it tricks em into thinking they are dying and they produce more thc. and for the lst, i was talkin about ways to increase yield by stressing them out, not by low stress. and i know what the fuck im doin, can i get a link to one of ur grows please? oh and btw, fuck the lakers!

Its funny because i didnt even need a book to grow weed like u did lol , simple biology fuck what people say bout treating the plant in a certain way, as long as u have healthy cells and new growth, really the major difference in outdoor yeild is at what time u start your plants, bigger plant/longer veg = more bud because of more "budding sites" and larger root system, lets just drop it lol if a lil stress decreases my yeild by a couple grams fuck it i come out with the cronic

well,i did the experiment, not by my own will, the circumstances forsed me,half of my plants was hardened off, half not, obviously hardened on are doing better,i was using empty appartment to start the seedlings under fluoros, hardened half for 3-4 days, they went outside(the balkony was way small for all of them,it is not even a balkony, don't know the word in english, never seen something like that in usa or canada, realy old bildings in europe have it(some of them),then suddenly got a call that the owner is coming back a week earlier,so i had no choise, but to pot them direct in to the spot, since it is a remote location, hard to reach+i can't visit them every day,exp.2 times per day and spent 2-5 hours(job to do),since then we have sunny hot days 30-32^Celsius(2 weeks allready),i visit them twise a week to water very early in the morning(5to 6 am),i can clearly see the difference, there are 40 plants,so it can't be a coincidence, all hardened on are looking better, darker and bigger,so i gess if there is a real strong sun, hardening on is not a bullshit.i have started seedlings directly under the sun in the past-never had problems, but if you started inside, exp.under floros or sfls(3-4 weeks in my case)-i say harden them on,you will save a week or 2(means more bud at the harvest i gess:bigjoint:)

I would love to see pictures but that does sound about right. I just transplanted these clones this weekend. They're the first cuttings I successfully rooted so I am very proud of them. I gave them about a week on a window sill with the window open. Then I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots and they're hanging out under my blackberry bush. I'll give them full sun this weekend.
