hard pots vs cloth pots...

I think you may be looking at it wrong, the fact that air can get through the pot means that moisture can get out. Fabric pots are better in every single way but i dont think the plants are drinking any more because of the pot that they are in. LOVE my fabric pots once i put grommets in them all so i could tie my plants down.

I love smart pots .....there great all around .....love the way the roots grow in em and how easy they are to store ....honestly can't think about one bad thing about em
The only downside I've noticed from using them, which isn't terrible is that my humidity went up 10-15% higher but was easily controlled with a larger dehumidifier plus i haven't for the life of me figured a way to fill them by myself efficiently. Lol, i always call my old lady in to help shovel or hold them open. I use the 15 gallon eco pots with coco.

Yeah filling them is a slight pain but if that's all I have to fuss about il take it ...I also love that I can get extremely large ones for the fraction of the price of plastic ......and this year I was helping a friend who is sick with cancer ended up getting worse after planting and her plants needed to be in larger pots ....all I had to do was take a razor knife make slits down the sides of the smart pots and set it into a larger one .....the plants never missed a beat .........watering is more frequent but I'm ok with that for happy roots .....more roots more fruits Lol

I keep hearing good things about cloth pots so I gotta try a few out and see how I like em. If I get better results, I guess I'll just use my plastic pots for my veggies.

Yeah, I like to veg in 2.5 gal plastic pots and just before the 12/12 switch I put them in 5 gal fabric containers. I had some issues with water run out of them so I bought some food cooling screens at wally's place and layed those on 14" trays and put the grow bags on the screens. I still spill a small amount of run off here and there but it's much cleaner now.

In the background is a pix of cookies on those cooling screen thingys I use.
