hard drugs

I would be willing to bet that most of the people you guys have seen go nuts on weed were just about there already. THC doesn't make people go crazy, but I've known plenty of people who already were a bit addled that became complete lunatics once they started smoking weed and/or doing other drugs. I had a buddy that was manic depressive and drugs made everything worse, even though he thought they made things better. He's not with us anymore, unfortunately, because he eventually got so addled that he killed himself.

The main thing that I've observed over the decades I've been around the drug culture is that every drug can effect every person differently. I know dudes who did heroin on and off for years and could always take it or leave it. At the same time, I've also known people who did it once and were immediately a full blown junkie, from day one. It's all in how your body chemistry reacts to the drug. It has to do with your psychology, your upbringing and just plain old biology. I used to smoke cigarettes and did so on and off for years. One day, I just decided that I didn't really like it that much, so I stopped. Never had a craving, nothing. My wife, on the other hand, has had a really hard time quitting smoking. She even dreams about the nasty things. It's all about you, not the drugs.

the kids round ere start blazin at about 9 10 or 11, and its not weak thai or shit like that, its full blown mind numbing skunk from day 1, some can hack it like me and my bredrens, some cant like a few of my good friends, also our mental health system is shite, once they go in mad they come out almost o.k, then they stop the medication and start blazin really heavily again, back to the funny farm within weeks, its a sad cycle that almost every family will know someone who its happenin to.

so why exactly did u first try it if u had already seen tha damage it would cause, also is thier any other ex or currently using addicts that would like to post thier experiences on here.

without reading the thread further than this quote, I'd like to comment as a crackhead, as that addiction does not go away.... dont think any of them really do, they are just 'managed'.....

yes, I KNEW what crack could do to people....

at the same time, I've seen what all the other drugs that i was very experienced with could also do to people, so I kinda felt myself above the norm.... thought I could beat it. Never tried the shit, until we had a horrible weed drought.... there were huge busts going on everywhere on pot, to the point where the police were getting cocky and posting signs about it on the interstate/highways about it....
I was working, and selling local harvest shrooms on the side, so had plenty of money, but couldnt find pot for about 2mos.... nobody had it...... but crack was literally right around the corner, and I knew everyone that sold it, so I cockily assumed that I was above the general rule.... hell, I had plenty of experience with coke with no problems.....

I'd say by the two week mark, after smoking $100+ daily, I was hooked..... then you dont care even if you do see it, the drug has control......

ended up putting myself in rehab after sitting at my house alone on my 17th birthday, crying because I wanted to kill myself, but wouldnt because I wouldnt be able to get high again if I did..... fuckd, but true; but at the same time, I was still human enough to realize that I was at a turning point, either do something about it, or be like that till i died/went to prison.....

It's now 8yrs later, and I dont smoke rocks..... I will snort some coke about twice a year with no issues, but if I take ONE hit of crack, I'm a full-blown crackhead for the rest of the night, possibly the next day.... and that means blowing 100's of dollars.... so I stay away.

Sure its dumb, but its not like everyone that is an 'addict' got there intentionally..... but they DO have the power to get out of it.... no one else can do it for them.

Hope that helps a lil.

oh yh corse, a kid who comes from a good house with no predisposition towards mental illness prolly wont have any probs wit weed, but a 9 yr old kid from the hood who has no father and comes from a broken home trouble at school etc might have a lil problem with a substance that can temporarily take u out of reality. also, who are these NORMAL people u speak of, they may not use direct chemicals but they use precursors to get thier system to release the chemicals desired i.e videogames help to release seratonin which is why most people enjoy playing them, its also why most serial killers are addicted to extreme hardcore porn, when you cum you get a nice shot of endorphins (natural opiates) and thus thier brains associate violence or violent sex with pleasure. phsycotic illneses are just chemical imbalances which cause structural changes in the brain leading to dillusional thinking hallucinations paronoia etc by using weed we are playing with natural pre existing systems, no logical person can say that ABUSE of a system crucial to brain function is safe and can be continued heavily throughout life.

hmmm, well that does seem logical, i can understand not WANTING to be an addict but its impossible to try drugs like meth crack or heroin and not end up with problems, if thier was a serious weed drought like that then fuck it, theres no weed, i wouldnt take that as an excuse to go and smoke crack, well done for getting out of addiction and keep it that way.

because it is the natural tendency of humans ;) ..... we like to alter our conscious, and quite often..... you dont even want to know what kind of list of drugs I'd have on hand if it were a perfect world..... some may only get used once a year, and in small quantities, but still want em nonetheless...

I dont care what you are talking about, moderation is key..... I've seen plenty of people that could 'socially' smoke rocks, and at the same time, I've shown that heroin is not as horribly addictive as people say, but everyone is different. some people become folks you wouldnt want to be associated with just over weed ;)

well first of all my stupid posts r usually just after ive had a really fat blunt so i type and do really stupid shit, i think we hide behind smoke because thats just the way we enjoy escaping the problems of life, every single person on earth has a way of doing it, some ways or more harmfull than others but are accepted within the society we live in and thus the negative impacts are decreased and if anything reinforced i.e coffee, oh yh theres nothing wrong with coffee etc explain logically how makin ur heart work faster temporarily and then decreasing its function when the drug wears of can in any way be good. t.v oh theres nothing wrong with t.v other than the access to millions of peoples subconscious and the manipulations of thier thoughts. finish this sentence "have a break...."

exactly, natural human instinct, imagine if there was no desire to change consciousness or mood, no desire to "achieve" becuase remember when u have loads of people clapping for u those beautiful beta-endorphins get released rewarding u for ur hard work, think back to ancient man, hunting for his food, when he runs after the animal he gets a nice shot of adrenaline, when he sees his family eating he gets a shot of beta-endorphins and of course the dopamine and seratonin produced from the complex sugars within the meat. its natural, the industrial revolution and all those things wernt considered to happen in a logical world, its by chance that we developed the ability to form complex language and by chance the results of what language produced i.e very early civilisations that traded with one another progresivly becoming more and more complex, branching out further in the world until the point where new forms of medicine, new ways to make things that satisfy our matirealistic needs could be created and traded for.

that was my point.... people can do all kinds of crazy drugs, in crazy quantities even, and still not have a "problem" with said drug..... Its a case by case basis, and most of the people have an underlying psychological cause to blame, way before the drugs became "the problem"....... tis was my point.... I take everything to the extremes, so I understand what you're talkin bout ;)

completely true, drugs can help u find out who u are, or drugs can be u, i remember marc emery said on an interview that 90% of heroin addicts he treated didnt know thier father.

I never knew my pops, and I have been defined by drugs for years..... only after becoming a parent 4yrs ago did I begin to find who I was.... still working on it actually, but now I have obtained the wisdom to use drugs as tools to find me, rather than escapes from me ;)

i just think of it like this, all matter is just condensed energy, so we are all the same being just broken down, so the life im in now is temporary and inevitably my energy will be transformed into new life, i hope to either become a cheese tree or my cat, i love my cat too much, when i smoke loads of haze and he starts talkin its too funny, "better go get me some tuna motherfucker" in 1a them american black guy voices or when i light a blunt he runs into the room and goes right up to it and starts tryin 2 inhale the fumes, 1 time i gave him some weed cake and my god he loved it, he was stretching walking around and then he was stoned and just laying on my lap puring 4 octaves lower than usual.

I've had a few binges with meth, as that is the nature of the drug, but i think that's one of the harder things to become addicted to.... dont know how anyone could want to be like that all the damn time

i had an issue with morphine/oxycodone/hydrocodone/opium...ect it started with doctors over prescribing from a bad parachuting landing, then i started to like them. too much. after awhile your brain stops making it's own natural endorphins due to the opiates taking their place. this is the beginning of tolerance and of physical dependence, at least for me.
when scripts would run out, towards the end of my habit, i would score heroin or anything that would take the withdrawals away. they can be ferocious.
i never stole, nor would i do anything to anyone that wasn't deserved. then came coke, then to sleep came more pain pills. by far the most selfish drugs i know of. i detoxed. could not sleep for twelve days. i still deal with some chronic pain issues from the fall but i wont touch pills anymore.
as far as why? well aside from the obvious pain issue. being self destructive.
and i am not sorry for the lesson i learned. it lead me where i am today.

After I got put on probation (for weed) I was looking for legal highs instead of just being sober. First I just was drinking a lot since they dont test for alcohol in urine at my court. Then a month later I was introduced to inhalents (air duster to begin with). I was huffing like 5 cans a day to myself. I would get these girls that are close friends (who also huffed) to steal cans from wal-mart, CVS, and dollar stores to just support my habit. And when I huffed, omfg Im really surprised that Im not dead because I would hit the can until I couldnt see anything but static and I could barely hear. I would do that every time.

After I got busted with a lot of weed I got sent to rehab(this past september). Since then I have relapsed, but not bad. I shared a can here and there with a friend.

I havent touched a can in 2 months
