Happy Frog vs. Oceans forest

Hey guys...Im on a somewhat tight budget this year and was wondering if there is really much of a difference when growing with these 2 ff soils..
Ive always gone with ff oceans forest with great results..
Thing is the oceans forest is 1.5 cubic feet (9 gallons) and happy frog is 2.0 cu. ft (12 gallons) and happy frog is 3 dollars cheaper... I use 3 gal pots so The happy frog would save me from buying an extra bag overall and and some extra dough....
Anybody with experiance or any knowledge of thee two please give me some insight here...Thanks..

That's funny... I did the exact same thing...

I was using FFOF, I ran out on a tight budget, because of the quantity and the price of the happy frog I decided to try it.

So far all my flowering plants are still in FFOF, but all my veggin' plants are lovin' it just the same, and I've been cloning directly into it as well.

But it is pretty compact stuff... There's perlite in it, but not as much as the OF...

I just added a bit of perlite, about 80/20 ratio, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stick with it.

But so far so good...

i mix them both together. Remember when growing anything, you always get what you pay for.
at what ratio do you mix from both? and do you see any deficiency at all? ive used ffof mix but always had a problem with ph but that was because i would never add anything to it, since ive added dolomite lime in to the mix things have been much better. So my question is do you have an ph problems when using them together?

Ive decided to go with mixing the 2 together along with perlite.... 12 gal of happy frog, 9 gal of oceans forest and 8 quarts of perlite to weaken the combo a bit....

I have grown in Sunshine #4, roots organics, FF ocean forest, and FF happy frog.

My preferred medium is Roots Organics I like the consistency of micronutrients in it.
Fox Farm Ocean Forest is nice but it tends to run a bit hot. (previous people have said they mix happy frog and ocean forest), which is a good idea.

Although if it were between just those two (happy frog and ocean forest) I would indeed go with Ocean Forest.
