Happy Anniversary Canada!

One year post legalization, and I'm pretty happy. I can go to a brick and mortar store or order legal cannabis online, plus there are a plethora of low cost grey market outlets. I can smoke in public, I can carry, I can trade openly. I grow legally.

Later today I'm meeting a friend to gift some seeds. My old prohibition-era brain was thinking of basic stealth/situational awareness before I remembered I can hand the package across the table of the coffee shop and say "here's some cannabis seeds for you".

For the 'boycott government poison, only sellout commie fascist loser faggit homos buy government weed' crowd, I suggest most of you weren't around or weren't old enough to appreciate the bad old days. Today's situation isn't perfect, but it's a helluva lot better than it was.

Actually you were more free and got less legal problems with weed before legalization. Depending on the cop you either got your weed taken away, if you got pulled over I know sooo many people that just were told to put it out, now your license is gone. You know how many people that I know that got busted even going back to 2007+ that would just get raided, plants cut and equipent damaged and no charges unless you were already on the radar for more hardcore stuff or were stupid enough to have a gun in the house.

Majority of people here would be pro legalization if it was done properly. Hell I tried to get into legalization with opening a legal dispensary holly fuck what a cluster fuck that was even just asking a question about zoning at the city halls to be just told don't expect any new rules for at least a year.

The only people who got anything out of this is the ex cops and ex politicians. Us normal folks have pretty much 0 chance of starting a legal cannabis related business.

Not If you plan to travel to the states in the future, re: the cbsa statement about buying weed from ocs.

Also, right to enter, blood tests for impaired driving, no smoking in public, etc. I am more scared to walk around with a joint now than I was ten years ago.

I think you have to have a quarter mil cash on hand to even apply..

That's why at least in BC there's so little of people growing their 4 plants, there not enough money in it. 2009 and earlier there was TONS of people growing 2-6 lights even in condos and high rises lol. Two lights in a 4x8 area doing SOG say 9 weeks total for the crop and you could get 2-3LB of weed and sell it for $6-9K. That's a pretty good extra income every two months especially if you have a job already.

Not really as there's also a chance to lose your house with civil forfiture, massive legal costs or go to jail. Not worth the money you make for the risk and who the hell wants to spend 4+ months growing 4 plants to get maybe 2lb and maybe lucky to get $1000-1300/lb. That wont even cover the cost of the equipment or hydro. Very few people that are going to grow for themselves and the ones that do either grew years ago and now just want to have fun or someone who wants a hobby. If majority of people wont grow their own food to save money they're not going to grow weed to make or save them money.

Its just like with legalization, no one that I know that didn't smoke before legalization has smoked once since legalization. The only time I smoked after legalization was to test out vape pens and terp/vs oil mixtures to reduce oil viscosity.
