Hang drying- To use a fan or not?

So I thought I should use a fan but I also remember reading something about a fan drying the buds too fast and affecting the taste. So they are hanging in a closet in the dark and I'm using a fan for the past 36 hours. It's not a huge fan but definitely enough to force air across the buds. Good technique or not?

get an oscillating fan in there
that'll help keep the air moving around, helping to prevent mold or rot
but won't constantly be blowing on them, so they won't dry out too fast

but yes, do use a fan

best of luck with the dry and cure!

I used a fan on my second harvest and it dried faster, which prevents mold and such. honestly it didnt really affect the taste too much. :peace:

Thanks for the responses. I've had the fan a couple feet away but directly on the buds for a day and a half and the leafy portion of the buds seem really dry already. I'm going to set the fan so it just keeps the air moving without blowing directly on them for a couple days. I trimmed the buds down but these AK47s still have a some little leaves mixed up with the calyxes and they just seem awfully dry for a day and a half so I'll slow it down just a little.

With a fan blowing on mine from about 2-3 feet away the stuff was dry enough to smoke in 2.5 - 3 days. I am now curing it all. :peace:

Not to get too analytical but were your buds pretty chunky? These were compared to some skunk I took down a few weeks ago. I have a feeling the outer parts feel real dry while the center is still probably wet. I think I'll slow it down and give them at least 5 days. Shouldn't hurt, right?
