Half dead clones

This is/was my first cloning attempt so I expected high mortality, only one plant had roots break the mesh of the the pucks so it went in the big pot.

Can I cut off the dead leaves and have the plant bounce back now that it's in the soil?

This is my second grow, but a first for clones and a first run for my grow box.

(see other thread------>https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/359988-second-attempt-kalebs-2nd-grow.html

Any and all help is appreciated.

(side note: The clones came from found plants and I did speak to the grower BEFORE taking the clones)

I think I see a problem with the clones. When I take clones I will take off all the leaves except for the top two- otherwise the plant will try to supply nutrients to all the leaves, and it can only do this if it has an established root system. Since they are clones, they don't have roots and cannot supply the leaves with the required nutrients, so the leaves die off andd you are left with clones that still don't have sufficient roots. Just like a bush- a little trimming will go a long way.

Thank you, I know plants are hearty so I wasn't too concerned about cutting off leaves but I needed some reassurance from someone more knowledgable than myself

Not a problem, it's more of a trial and error sort of a thing. I did a test batch on my first attempt (left some leaves on half, then trimmed the second half down to two leaves) and after the first week the trimmed looked a lot healthier and were even showing some roots, while the clones with leaves were drooping. After trimming the bigger leaves off the second half, they started showing roots after about a week.

The original grower said their bag seed from Jacks (Jack Herrer) although i'm not 100% on that since the local head shop hasn't sold any Jack seeds but have gone crazy with the PPP sales over the last few months

Hell yeah. One is tall and has dense sticky buds, and the other is . . . tall and has dense sticky buds. Looks like a pretty good find. Good luck with the grow!

at best it'll be a smokable pot plant and at worst it'll be turned into a seed stock plant that's crossed with Blue mystic
