Yeah EP i def think it would require 2 similar plants to do a proper comparison.. 2 clones would probably work better but in this case i have 2 that are the same exact pheno, same size and all so it should work pretty well!

For those who have stayed subbed.. Just chopped the 2 girls last night, one had been flushed for a good 2 weeks, the other i fed straight nutes for the last 2 weeks.. Should be some good comparison to see how much flushing really effects the taste and what not..

Hey Mikey! It's hilarious how this thread turned into another flush/don't flush argument! Always entertaining though.

At the beginning of the year I did a flush/non-flush experiment with 2 Nirvana Ice flushed and 2 not flushed. With blind test critiques from two other very experienced smokers, the two flushed plants actually came out on top. Now, these four plants were from 4 seeds, so take it with a grain of salt I guess. But BOTH of the flushed plants were preferred over both of the non-flushed, so it does count for something, I think.

Anyways Mike, How did your non-flushed ladies taste to you? Or are they still curing?

I keep my fertilizer at the max and I don't slow down for nothing. Total water change every five days with 1/6 the fertilizer per gallon as what is recommended for dirt. I flush by cutting the plants off at the base and placing them in a trough filled with purified water(reverse osmosis) like people put flowers in a vase with water. I run this through one twenty four hour cycle and at the end of said cycle(which starts and ends when the lights come on) I take them to be hung up and dried etc. My weed always tastes like candy, and the Rhino really fools them because it's so sweet and always catches heavy tokers off gaurd. I hope this info may help. Flushing the growing medium would be a waste of time.

Yo whats good cannuck? Yeah it hella turned into an argument but it was still alot of good info haha.. Thats cool you ran the experiment to, i will always flush my plant for the fact that i think its probably better for you to not have all those nutes in the bud health wise, but again i dont have data to support that so im not really sure.. But yeah they both started curing today, they both seem to be the same pheno so i think it will be a good tester, but your right, without an exact clone its impossible to really know..

Thats a pretty interesting idea, do you just make sure the bottom of the main stalk is dipped in? Ill have to try that next time..

ya i read a method, where you basically do the same thing, but put an airstone and pump in the bucket with fresh water, for the last couple of days, to flush it out faster.

Alright everybody so the bud has been curing for almost two weeks now, i tried a sample and honestly the unflushed bud was better in both aspects, for one it tastes alot fruitier, for two the high seem's to be more potent.. Both plants seem to burn perfect, no sparkles are anything like people claim..

So there you have it, like i said this wasnt a test on health risks etc but just on flavor, bag appeal, and how the bud burned..

i find only if your using a added carbo/sugar regiment is it necessary to flush these i find if you use it till the end will cause a uneven burn in final product but otherwise not much to a flush specially siince i use Super soil and i just water with plain water the whole way through who needs to flush?
