H.A.F. growing stink-flowers in dirt with QB's

So I got curious about the slow growth, and I peeked in each pod to see if the seeds were at least cracked. All looked good, but the pods were cool to the touch. The tent that they are in must have been keeping the whole dome at the right temp, and the heat mat wasn't coming on.

There was condensation on the inside of the dome so I didn't think about it.

I ditched the thermostat until they sprout. I give it 2-3 days and a few more will show. So @J.James I apologize I may have to drop another set, because with my luck this one will be male

Speaking of my luck. predicted delivery of the nematodes wasn't until Friday so I watered today - checked my messages and they're out for delivery today

My other past-time - dealing with tomatoes that won't stop growing
These 3 had bug issues early and I set them aside, now I had to rig a trellis and bend the tops over.
And the greenhouse experiment is interesting. The plant on the left has limbs that go all the way to the right side and are curling back the other way now. I have seen June-bugs on some random plants on the property, but never a lot, and none on the tomatoes. I have found 2 hornworms but no infestation. I have an abundance of birds, and I think they are taking care of the big bugs. So I don't know if the greenhouse is needed for "crops". Probably be for herbs and stuff in the future.

But the interesting thing is that everything in there ripens slower. There's not abundant fruit, probably because the lack of bugs hinders pollination, but what is there is perfect. The stuff outside is hit or miss.
And these two have been on the plant for about 2 months without ripening. Don't know if that is good or bad, but it is different from the outside ones. It probably gets 2-3 hours less sun (or shaded sun)

Got the nematodes and watered them into everything I have growing, Have two extra boxes for repeat treatments. If this fails I am hunting for beneficial spiders...

Fixed it. The heat was the ticket. 2 for 6 now. These are both the Royal Mystery reggies, so 50/50 shot I'll get a girl.,
Oh, @J.James One of the 5 I dropped was light colored and never cracked, so 2 for 4 on the RM, and the others may hit in the next day or two. When I peeked they had both cracked.

Now I'm back to the thermostat because I don't want to cook the babies.
I shifted from solo-cups to little starter pots. I think I'll be able to keep the plants in the dome longer if I need to just because they are shorter. They are more stable too. No tipping over.

So I cut the starter-pod tray in half to make room.

Well... I noticed that if I'm going to be running a lot more seeds, I needed both a seed starting place and a seedling place. So I cruised amazon and found this for $8.99. Now I can have a small one for constant heat for seeds, and one for the thermostat

3 Royal Mystery off and running. no sign of cracking on the other one (old eyes) so 3 for 5 on germ.
I have a little crack on the black widow but it doesn't look promising. It's still in there for giggles.

@J.James Royal Mystery 3/5 on germination. Since I doubt there will be 3 females (who knows) I'm dropping more seeds soon.

I need to drop my remaining 3 ILGM Black Widow seeds though. So far out of 5 I had 2 duds, and if all 5 are shit I want to get replacements. Do you have any tricks for hard hulled or hard to germinate seeds that you know should be viable? Would you leave them in water until you see a definite tail?

The Hulk is showing a few problems on the lower leaves, but that's not surprising considering the gnats and all have done besides feeding them to cure that issue. I don't think either will have a problem going full term since they are already turning and still 98% green. Especiallt if the nematodes work.

And the sea of brown and green is getting more green every day. Still don't know what to do about the 2 slow ones. I was worried until I saw the next pic
And the hidden benefits of auto-focus. I was trying to get a pic of the deformity, and got a good shot of the little palm tree. Definite sprout on top.

And here's the fugliness. This is why I am careful about what I prune on these. Looks like 2 sprouts from the same node now. I may still prune one away, but I'll wait to see if one is a runt.

Interesting side note. With the flower clones, the leaves are always sticky. You'll see random trichomes on most leaves, and random pistils everywhere during veg

It's like a mystery what will happen next. This sprout especially But this is the most uniform of the bunch. As soon as they start showing a few true leaves I'll get them positioned for flower then flip them a few days later.

Hopefully one of these will be ready for chop by then.

But if not, at least I have room to jam them in around the edges until the other 2 finish.

The clones got their first real watering today, 1qt each, but it wasn't enough for run-off. Next one will be a half gallon each.
And I got my first (almost) true leaf. It is missing a lower lobe so only 4-blades, but this is just above the gnarly leaf pictured above

These seeds popped on 3 consecutive days. I numbered them accordingly, and the growth is perfectly as expected for each.

Having the house to myself means I can do what I want, and usually function supersedes form. The cat spends the day shifting from one window to the other.

Let's see if these gals live up to their new names. Very Interested to see how much diversity is in that line also.
