Hope I can help. Light cycles are the biggest stress on plants. Use 24/7 for awhile and then turn the lights off for 48. Then do some 12/12 for awhile. Then start the process over. This will bring the hermies out of the closet, so to speak.
Wouldn't switching up the light cycle all crazy like that be why the hermies would be brought out of the closet?? going from 24 hours on to 48 hours off and then to 12/12?? thats waaaaay too much stress. (that it self could produce hermies) if this person should do anything i would say i agree with the 24 hours on because it encourages rapid growth. never would i say to turn it off for 2 days though, the plant would be wilted and you are stressing it big time. after the 24 hour on i would go 18 on 6 off and when your plant is over 12" and signs of preflowers, then switch to 12 on and 12 off. you dont want to encourage them to turn hermie. you want it to have the most stress free environment it can to persuade it as much as you can to be a female!!!

Update

The butter from the males tasted and smelt like shit.

But i got my moneys worth. buttered some toast (didnt have time for baking), nothing happened for two or three hours, then slowly my head caved in. lovely creeping couchlock. didnt move for 3 hours. well, except for reachin for the mini mars bars. Carried on for at least 2 more hours, was a nice high.

Dont throw away males, eat them

by the way, i ate them on an empty stomach, think that helps...

Further update (if anyones bothered)

Made brownies from remaining butter with the girlfriend. caned for that night and the whole night after. It is definately worth using the males for this purpose rather than chucking them.

shake and bake.

No probs, i couldnt find any definate yes or no's with the male potency online, most people writing them off.
Cooked them up for an hour and a bit. Watch out though, takes a while to kick in though, like i said, wait 2-3 hours before you write it off. And empty stomach is a must i suppose, unless you plan to wake up baked..

the butter from males taste like eating a salad of fresh fan leaves with no dressing. Thats the only reason I knock on making anything other than hash with them. bagseed males generally arent even worth making hash with because they dont get that crystally, but if they are medicinal grade plants go for it, its better than nothing.
