Why would you hear it coming? They now have things called mufflers. Have you ever heard of those? The giant plows that the state of Minnesota uses you wouldn't hear running from 50 feet away. The plow would obviously be raised off of the ground...hence, no scraping noise from the plow. I could also do it after a Vikings game or Wild game, the plow would fit right in on the streets of Minnesota in the middle of winter. Please tell me how you would hear it coming from a mile away. And tell me why seeing it driving in the winter on the streets of Minnesota would make someone question it. We've been over this, it doesn't need to be inconspicuous...but, in this situation, it would be.
Why would you not hear (assuming we're talking about the truck in the pic you posted) a 9 ton truck barreling down the road, with a plow attached to the front of it? Or why would you not hear people screaming?

Seeing it hit people would raise a few flags.... hearing people scream, and hearing the roar of the engine get louder might set of some bells too.... You can tell it's approaching you. You can't tell a bullet is approaching you.
Being inconspicuous isn't a necessity, but it's a huge advantage. You can jump out of the way of a plow too. If you heard a shit load of screams, looked to your right or left and saw a snow plow speeding towards you, you wouldn't get out of the way? How long do you think this spree would last?
