Gun Control

I personally would be all for rolling back the time line and eliminating ALL guns. I whole heartedly think it would be a better world. but do you think the cops will ever give theres up, or the army for that matter? Unfourtionatly we as humans are constantly striving to find better and more efficient heartless ways of killing ourselves, one could almost say its the only thing we are actually good at, it is clearly the thing we are most successful at, thus it seems to be part of the human condition. To remove our ability to efficiency kill each other we would be working in direct opposition to over 6000 years worth of human evolution.

Right about now most of you are prolly thinking, well the military need there guns because ppl in other countries have guns! and most of you would agree that to take guns from OUR military would be absurd, and have little to no objection to our troops carrying guns. So why then would our ppl not need guns when other ppl have guns? Thus I purpose a solution more akin to Sweden. In order to maintain citizenship in the USA ALL residents over the age of 18 (not including special need individuals) should be required to attend a basic military training course and be issued a firearm to be used for self defense. every 5 to 10 years we should attend a short 6 (ish) week course to update our understanding of principles and weapons training. Then every US citizen will be a trained militia member and everyone will be comfortable with everyone else having THERE weapon and we will all be trained to use them properly.
When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. It's a true story.

Machine guns are primarily used to lay down covering fire so elements of the platoon can maneuver. Machine guns are not the mass killers people make them out to be, individually fired well aimed shots are much more effective.
Part of the problem is that machine guns are part but not all of the category "automatic firearms". Subguns (like the Uzi or the seminal Schmeisser) are one, and the modern assault rifle, typified by the AK-47 and its congeners and descendants, is another. And their tactical roles are distinct from that of a squad- or platoon-level machine gun. cn

I think he's talking the sorta pre-WW2 definition of a machine gun that would today be considered a Squad Machine Gun or Heavy Machine Gun.

Fact of the matter is you CAN own pretty much whatever you want, yup even operational tanks, but they want you to pay for the privilege.
How many rights you want to have depends on the size of your bank account.

You can check the stats if you wish, but, no registered full auto machine gun has ever been used in a crime.(not 100% sure of my source for this, maybe NRA)

Friend's warehouse has been robbed multiple times. The cops suggested he get a shotgun and deal the "fucks [himself] next time."

Not here you can't. Apparently a certain bolt gun in .308 has been deemed an "assault weapon" by those wiser than myself. Pfeh. cn

Criminals have always had weapons, incl automatic guns, so why should regular, law-abiding citizens be put through such a gamut of costs and procedures to own these types of weapons too? If they make guns illegsal for citizens of the US, only the criminals will have them, and the other 99% will be rendered defenseless, as cops are never there when something ACTUALLY happens... Good gun control, in my opinion, is when a well-placed shot is made in a justified situation, like when one is in fear of their lives and this basic right of humanity should not be infringed upon... The 2nd AMendment was not to be interpretted only for police and military to be able to keep and bear arms, and I think it is a travesty in the States and other Countries, that dont allow their citizens to practice this... Criminals will always use them for bad, and most people who own guns, will likely either never even use them, and only keep them in case of a break-in, or they r sporting enthusiates who enjoy hunting and/or target shooting, which is a perfectly natural, and healthy pastime... The term "assault weapon" implies that it is only intended for doing harm, when the term "modern sporting weapon" is a much more aptly titled name for AR's and Ak's and such "black" guns... They have their place in hunting, and sport shooting, just as much as any black powder or single-shot weapon there is... Once a country takes away it's citizen's rights and abilities to protect themselves, they have ultimate control over the people, and can force them into compliance of any other obscure laws they choose to impose, and is not a truely free nation at that point... So, no more gun control, please... In countries and states where every citizen has a gun, or guns, there is much less crime, as criminals do not have such "easy-pickin's" and think twice before robbing someone, who is likely armed... So, u do the math...
