Guerrilla Diesel Ryder in South Carolina (and a few Automatic Blueberry)

[FONT=&amp]Diesel Ryder buds are starting to plump up a little, get some definition. They’re also starting to smell a lot more Diesel-like, also fruity.

I am dealing with a little Powdery Mildew on some of the leaves. I’ve been pruning any affected leaves, and so far, I think I’m on top of it…for now. Probably will be dealing with it until harvest, but I am fortunate that these will finish much faster than traditional plants…or else this could be more of a problem than it is.

The Auto Blueberry are starting to fill out as well, although the leaves are very plentiful, whorled leaves as well, which sucks.

I think the whorled & leafy leaves of this strain are one of the main reasons Lowlife Seeds promoted this as a great ‘hash-making’ strain. Between pruning the leafy buds, to smoking all the leafy material that finds its way into the heart of each bud, smoking them can be a harsh experience.

I can attest to the fact that this is a great hash-making strain…very, very black, indica bubble-hash. [/FONT][FONT=&amp]

The Querkle have visible amber trichomes, which is cool to see so starkly with the naked eye. They’ve been flowering for 9 weeks now, although the seeds that I’m so patiently waiting for are just going through the final finishing stages of production. Some ripe, some not so ripe. I’ll harvest these in another 10 days.

I’ve been pushing back the harvest time on the Querkle for two reasons:

1) I want to give the bud that’s on these plants as much access to the UVB (Ultraviolet B) light that I can, and since this is the longest week of sunlight (and the years most intense UVB light), these Querkle should really be getting bathed in it….and producing more THC/THCV.

2), I want as many fully developed, mature, tiger-striped seeds as possible. Querkle seeds are currently selling for well over $10/seed anywhere online or at dispensaries…so I don’t have a single regret about producing Querkle seed.

Gotta have some vision…some foresight for the future. These Querkle F2’s are definitely gonna play a big roll in future grows. [/FONT]

Cool man! The buds should really start swelling in the next couple weeks, with some nice color change; reds, oranges, purples.

Stay tuned...I've been putting up picture/video updates every weekend, and will continue to do the same.

One week's time is just enough to show some tangible progress each week.

I should say that every plant is a female Diesel Ryder, except 2 female Auto Blueberry in the back left in buckets, and 2 seeded female Querkle, which are pretty identifiable.

Here are the pics of the two seeded female Querkles, which for some reason wouldn't fit in the above big update.

They're just filled with seed.

Yeah I've looked around too, and I haven't seen many places with Diesel Ryder regular seeds in stock. I know Attitude has the fem. seeds in stock. I was lucky to pick up 5 regular Diesel Ryder from Castle Seeds when they were still carrying them.

thanks,for now on everything is ok,except the hot weather(no rain the last month,means heavy labor job with buckets),at least i have a parther,strong man,running with 2&10 gal.buckets,but global warming is here,last 2 years are incredible dry,so i need something faster,autoflow.seems to be the problem solving,diesel ryder was recc.to be one of the strongest among autofl.,and doing good outside,so i have no patience to hear quality(and quantity)report from your grow.

I haven't seen ANY places with Diesel Ryder regular seeds in stock.if you see one,let me know please.thank you in advance.

beautiful garden man. here in NC my plants are starting to reveg lots of siingle blade leaves growing is this goin to be a problem where would the plant go from here im not sure if its stress or just because the days are getting longer they been outdoors since May. any help would be highly appreciated thank you and keep up the good work! i agree very hard work caring water back and forth i just hope it pays off come fall. Just thought I'd put up a few pics that I snapped today. Even though there was a bunch of rain the last few days, it looks like the next week is gonna get in the high 90s/100s here, so I hauled about 8 gallons of water in, and put it in storage. The more clean water the better.

I'm gonna do feedings two more times before I cut all additional nutes, and let these babies burn up any nutes still trapped in the soil/leaves. Want that nice white ash when I smoke these buds, so I'll be sure to flush properly to get extra salts/nutes out of the soil/leaves/buds.

I've just been using Fox Farm's Tiger Bloom (1/2 teaspoon per gallon) and the supplement Open Sesame (1/4 teaspoon per gallon), and when I feed I usually add a few teaspoons of dolomite lime to the mix, to help buffer the waters/nutes acidity.

The plants still have noticeable marks from the Powdery Mildew outbreak I had for a few weeks, but I'm not gonna pull or prune any more leaves. Any leaf you remove, you also remove the factory that makes the plant grow and produce buds. Anyone that tells you to remove leaves so the sun can get to the buds is wrong. Sure you'll get strong buds, but the buds themselves will be smaller. Leaves are the life-blood of the plant/buds.

So I'm cursing myself for the leaves I had to remove that had signs of Powdery Mildew, but I'm glad it's under control now because of the leaves I did remove.

Less than a month left for most of these plants.

I'll be removing the Querkle's in a week or so, and some of the Diesel Ryders will be ready about 2-3 weeks after that.

Auto Blueberry

Here is a low-quality video of the plot, although despite it's low-quality, you can still see bud development/color changes.

Pretty happy, buds have really started to fatten up over the last 10 days, and the fruity/diesel smell is getting stronger each time I get out there. Not to mention the trichomes are already starting to stack themselves on the leaves/buds, and the buds are starting to glisten with THC.

Your plants are starting to reveg...so they were actually flowering at one point? Are they Autoflowering? It's hard to understand what you're trying to say.

This thread is starting to confuse me a little; the only people commenting are people who just signed up and have less than a few hundreds posts. Not exactly confidence inspiring participation.

Not sure why this doesn't interest anyone here at RIU with any experience?

I know I'm growing autoflowering strains here, and everyone loves to bash autoflowering strains (despite never trying them, or not really giving them a chance by doing it right), but almost 1,000 views, and no one has anything to say about this grow?

I've got almost 20 Diesel Ryder females here...who else anywhere has a documented grow including pics, with almost 20 Diesel Ryder mothers flowering?

I realize I'm not shooting with a professional $1,000 Canon camera like all the Cali-medical growers growing their local 16-week special sativas, but I've got detailed breakdowns of a major strain, with pictures, and videos.

RIU continues to mystify me, but I'll continue posting this grow here, despite the obvious lack of interest.

sorry i wasnt clear enough. i been watching subcool420 on youtube a little over a month now he inspired me to create a acount her at riu lots of great information. i seen your grow and thought it looked very nice. my plants are bagseeds from some dank i had this past winter. sorry i do not have a camera or else i would start a journal of my own. i had a 10 seedlings sprout inside and after the first set of true leaves i placed them outside on may 1. about a month later they started to show sex 6 females 3males 1 hermie. got rid of males and the hermie. out of the 6 females 2 started what i think is reveging. growing single blade leaves everywhere they other 4 seem to be doing great continuing to flower goin on 4 weeks now there in a nice sunny spot middle of the woods. your grow was interesting to me because i am 1 state above you so we have the same outdoor grow season. this is my first grow. 2 of my females are in 5 gallon buckets and 4 are planted str8 into the ground. i failed to realize all your plants are autoflowers sorry about that now it makes since y there budding stoner moment forgive me. yes i am a rookie to growing and this website but i plan on learning as much as possible. anyways dont mean to ramble on just hit some sour D. guess i will just sit back and watch the babies grow i have 1 question if you dont mind answering Do you spray your plants for bugs? if so what do you use? thanks agian yo keep up the hard work hopefully one day we can have medical marijuana here in our states so the east coast can take over the game . peace-greenhead

So the bagseed you grew these from had to be from an autoflowering strain, if they're flowering now. Flowering for regular plants doesn't begin for at least another month (if you live in the northern hemisphere). So there's a question. No regular strain of cannabis would start flowering June 1st.

I don't spray my plants because I don't want to smoke pesticides, even the 'natural' ones in my finished buds. Never spray plants that are more than a few weeks into flowering, or else you will be smoking those insecticides.

I'll be doing a major Querkle grow in a month or so, along with some Chernobyl and OG Kushes.

Really impressed with this Diesel Ryder grow. In only 3 1/2 weeks of flowering, they've really produced some amazing looking bud. I can only imagine what they'll look like in 3-4 weeks when I harvest.

Like a bodybuilder after lots of work, I'm starting to see a lotta definition and form in these Diesel Ryder.

I'd say 16 out of the 18 Diesel Ryder have solid/thick colas, and two others that are about a week behind those.

The Auto Blueberry are still really leafy and much slower to mature. There is gonna be a lotta leaf interwoven into the buds...annoying. I need to keep telling myself it'll make great Bubble-Hash, but I would so love a couple nice Auto Blueberry colas to smoke on with friends. That Blueberry taste is so amazing....really wanna share it. There is just 2 of the Auto Blueberry.

One of them was really hit by PM a few weeks ago, so I had to remove a lot of critical fan leaves, and that's having an effect on budding, again proving how valuable fan leaves are to bud production and overall plant health.

Fan leaves shouldn't be removed unless they're over 50% brown (imo), or if they're obviously infected with some plant disease/bug infestation. Those yellow leaves have valuable nutrients that the plant can still use to make buds and further plant growth, so unless leaves look infected or they need to be removed to improve air-flow, I leave those yellow leaves on the plant.

The two Querkle are filled with seed, and are trying to reveg, despite a lack of water (purposely done to improve any last THC production), and 100+ degree Fahrenheit temps. The seeds look dark and tiger-striped (which are the preferred shell covering, imo, for this strain), so as soon as the temps get back into the lower 90s, upper 80s, I'll cut these two girls. I hope I can get 100 quality seeds from each plant, which I'll of course separate/label/store in their own containers when properly dried.

I fed these plants two days ago (Fox Farm Tiger Bloom/Fox Farm Open Sesame/Dolomite Lime) along with their regular watering of 7 gallons, so today I just watered them 5-gallons to help stave off dehydration with this extreme heat that most of the country is under.

Looks like most of this part of the country will cool off by next weekend, which is very welcomed.

The plants look just great. You can tell they're midway through flowering, the way leaves are starting to drop/turn yellow in a flowering-like way.

Geeked about these Diesel Ryder buds....they look insane already. Hope you can see the colors developing in these pics...reds and oranges look so cool.

The smell is overwhelmingly fruity...but strong diesel undertones are starting to develop...I could smell it about 100 feet away. Luckily this location is so remote, I shouldn't have any problems with anyone, except lots of deer...and they hate the smell of flowering cannabis.

Querkle

I'll probably have to go back out to the plot in a few days, because it doesn't look like rain is coming for another week or so.

With temps in the low 100s this week, might have to get out there every other day and water.

Dangerous because I could be seen, labor intensive because of the weight of water, and painful with all the burs, thorns, and tough plant life I have to go through each time I go out to the plot.

Diesel Ryder is starting to sparkle with trichomes more and more every time I go out there!

These plants are really starting to swell and get thicker. Oranges and reds becoming more and more vivid in almost all colas.

I'm gonna give these Diesel Ryder another 3 weeks or so, and then chop 'em. Gonna reuse the soil when they're done, and make another round of Diesel Ryder before winter! Heck, I could probably fit two more rounds of Diesel Ryder's before any hard frosts come.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't wanna grow this strain. Not too leafy, really fast sexing/maturity, great smell, great trichome production, great colors. Sounds like a winner to me.

The Auto Blueberry are coming along a little more, although at least 2 weeks behind the Diesel Ryder that were started at the same time as them. Still really leafy. I probably won't grow this strain more than 1 more time before I'm done with it. Hopefully they'll finish with a bang, because they're really creeping along slowly.

I'm gonna harvest the 2 Querkle's this weekend. I harvested about 40 top-quality, tiger-striped seeds all together a few days ago, and am drying them out. I'm actually gonna be turning around and germinate a few of these F2 Querkle seeds for one final Fall harvest. Should have just enough time to veg (about 4-5 weeks) before they flower (8 weeks). Really interested to see how grape these F2 Querkle turn out this fall. I've been selecting parents from these Querkle for Urkle-type characteristics the last few generations (grape looking male pollen sacks for instance), so hopefully that will show itself in the final harvest come October.

I gave the plants their last feeding today of Fox Farm's Tiger Bloom and Fox Farm's Open Sesame. Straight water the next 3 weeks until harvest. The leaves are still plenty green enough and healthy, and look to be able to supply any needed nutes for the last few weeks. Now it's a race to cleanse any remaining nutes in the soil/leaves/roots before harvest.

Really looking forward to making bubblehash from these Diesel Ryder leaves. Most leaves near any buds are already very sugar-coated in trichomes.
