guerilla growing

Hey all it's a new year which means a new grow season ahead I'm down in Australia so last years harvest will be finishing late April - March.... then winter which is when I plan on looking for my first outdoor guerrilla grow having a few indoor grows under my belt I'm taking the leap to guerrilla style for a lager crop and higher yield then my indoor grows iv done a fair amount of re search on the tips and tricks guide and such and feel I'm ready to go hunting for spots this winter (June-July) find my plots and pre pair them for planting late October ok so iv out sourced items I need eg multi tool shovel/pick/hoe, water crystals ( as Aussie summers can be killa) this year we have weeks straight of 40° c that's around the 120°f for yanks but yea some slow release ferts think they were around 15-10-10 slow release for 5-6 months,pest control for the insects Iv decided to go with a safer option of not planting near a water supply.... so in the winter pre pair I am going to dig a trench/ hole line it with a water proof camo tarp cover the top over the (self made water reserve) with fly screen or something similar I can find to keep most of the shit from getting in with the winters rain fall and then cover that with few branches and let fill over winter as we get more then enough rain in my area over winter.. dig the plant holes add some of the slow release ferts an turn through and leave to get rained in over winter and fert the natural soil... I will be takin everything I need for the in a camo army/camping style backpack and will be going out on a overcast day the first time to set it up and I will then dig a hole put my camo backpack with everything I need in it in a black garbage bag and burying that around the area as well for use instead of lugging everything in lil trips the only other thing il take out after the first winter trip is a game/hunting camera attached to a tree for a week watching my grow plot to see the results of that and then the actual plants to transplant when spring hits

let me know if you's have any advice tips or tricks yaself it's 2014 and I'm sure we're all evolving as growing to combat the failing war of drugs so and advice or self experience join in on this thread and help everyone become a successful guerrilla grower

Hi mate and welcome to gg. I feel your pain as I am also an australian grower and the weather this season has basically fucked my plants over hard, wind, sun, heat, wind, tiny bit of rain, more heat, bugs everywhere, it was one of the hardest summers I have faced.

I used to to grow up in the tropical north and had little issues with anything, seemed like you could throw the seed in the ground and come back 5 months later to a 10-15 foot high tree covered in fat buds. Now where I am living it is a constant struggle.

depending on your location here are some recommendations:

make sure your reservoir is well shaded and not attracting insects, the benefit of rivers is water flow, a stagnent source of water will encourage heat build up and less oxygenated water, two things that will negatively affect your growth.

wind barriers: I learnt this lesson the hard way as I used to always plant in tropical rainforest with barely any wind issues because surrounding foliage always protected my plants. If your plants are going to be in an open patch invest in some wood or metal pegs and use some green mesh that surrounds the entire plant and can go as high as the plant is going to grow. If surrounded by other plants that serve as a wind break invest in chicken wire that can support the branches and keep animals out.

pegging: wind =broken stems! buy some wooden dowels, wood stakes, or metal stake and tie your main stem to this! it will save you the issue of your stem snapping, remember to keep it tied as it grows.

sun: I am not sure how your going to start but if inside make sure you harden off the plants by giving them 1 hour 2 hours 4hours of sunlight over a one-2 week period before moving to your grow spot.

Dont: leaving anything at grow location can encourage police to identify you if you have some jack ass who has nothing better to do than fingerprint your bag, gear etc. if your paranoid like me, wipe everything down so if they decide to try to find you good luck with that.

camera: documented evidence of a grow at the grow site is not a good idea in a country where it is illegal. I would not recommend using a camera to document any of your activities and if you do for the love of god approach the grow site out of view of the camera, switch it off then do what your there for, if the police happened to find your camera with your mug plastered all over it they would be laughing their asses of and saying could this guy make it any easier for us.

pests: buy some sticky yellow fly traps, you can use these to keep flying insects away and neem oil is ideal for creepy crawlies and other ground related bugs. Snail pellets also scattered at least once every month will help. Midgies are the worst and a good trick is to either go to the beach and get some free sand or buy some, scatter this all over the top layer of your soil it disuades them from laying eggs and causing a huge amount around your plants.

thats all I can think of at the moment, let me know if you have any questions.

try to start with clones of fem plants also if you can it will save you the trouble of males, if not just pull them as soon as you can

Lol hey and thanks for the reply yes iv also thought of some of those issues to extend on my growing items I'll be wearing a full camo face muck while working/maintains the garden (regardless of camera) also gloves so no finger ptints either plus will be duct tapering my shoes once I'm few meters into the bush to leave no foot tread to my shoes also with the hunting camera it's full camo also and was most likely going to set up to suss out the spot before grow for wildlife or on people four wheelers or whateva lol to me some bright yellow or red paper fly traps hanging to me seems a lot more risky them my hunting camo camera but yea I will be taking clone of a girl I have vegging now and will continue to veg over winter take some cutting later with clone into some rock wool cube the take those sucker out to the bush month or so later in spring

also as I said any tools and suck I leave there will be not directly on the plot and will be well covered if not buried I to am paro so I won't be growing big tall trees I'll most likely be super cropping them every second visit to them so I'm not sure if they will need the steaking and yea the camera to keep spot out for wildlife and such before hand should give me the best idea about the spot as I want to avoid chicken wire and steaking just adds to the possibility of being seen easier plus as I said i will be able to fit pretty much everything I need in a back pack carrying a roll of chicken wire into the bush would be dodgey as unless done in the cover of dark but then you will need to use torches to get to you grow at night so yea lol I dunno I'm just hoping for a happy first outdoor crop

I think its funny cus its just about time for us over here in the States to put in our Guerilla. I found my spot and its an our drive from my house I also found huge bricks of pro mix for cheap. I have a bunch of lemon haze seeds from an indoor grow. We have aphids and spider mites here but soap and water on the leave is a good deterant the law has become laxed here on pot especially where im growing its medicinally legal there but you must have a licence I think im gonna do four patches of 6 I just hope the choppers don't see them. Does n/e one know how to camo the plants or what the cops look for?

Lol yea were reverse seasons to you yanks but yea I suggest going in YouTube and sussing out a guy called Barry cooper if ya haven't herd of him already he has a YouTube channel called nevergetbusted I'm pretty sure he's an ex k-9 police officer that left the force and come to our side and he gives you all you should need to know to get through safely he also has a nifty trick for tricking the sniffer dog in a police search ;p good luck on you grow cause it's strange I'm gunna be growing some lemon haze cross mango kush

I've seen people pin fake flowers on plants, as well as leaf pinching. Also make sure surrounding vegetation doesn't brown towards the end of the summer, as your ladies will be a beacon of light to LEO. Good luck

Yea iv herd of the fake flower idea not to sure yet as our Aussie bush land a lot different to the USA but yea will def keep that in mind about the bush land as it does dry up hear and lots of shit dies of but gumtrees will be still good so fingers crosses
