I've been growing for almost a year and I got started with one of their hps kits. It's all cheapish entry level stuff so if you're upgrading from anything else I'd say no. I have to add I haven't had any experience with the cmh lights, only their tents, fans, filters, etc.
And yes you'll need a 630w cmh of whatever brand you buy for a 4x4.

I checked their site and their prices are no better than I can get from the hydro store in Edmonton where I get a lot of my stuff. Also very limited in the brands of lights they carry and the only 1000W magnetic MH/HPS ballast I might want is sold out.

Zero CMH bulbs that would work in my 400W hps magnetics tho there are at least 4 companies that make them. No real high end bulbs of any kind except maybe some of the 315/630w cmh but I'm not familiar with them so they could be crap. They also charge $50 for a crappy 1000W Philips Alto that I an get here at the farm supply store for $35 and is nothing better than a street light.

I only checked out stuff that I buy now already for nutes and the prices were as high or higher than the store in Edmonton so I'd give it two thumbs down for pricing.
