WadduP Fellow RIU members...I need your imput on what you think I have so far and also what to add....+ rep

I wuss looking into purchasing the Growlab GL80. I plan on using a 500w LED Grow light. The maker said it is a 6 Band flowering system....3 watts per diode/bulb....Infrared & Ultraviolet Spectrum LEDS... UV 380nm-Deep Blue 425nm-Red 630nm-Orange 660nm-Infrared 730nm-12K White.....and it has 40,000 Lux

I'm trying to decide whether to go with aeroponics or DWC for my irrigation....

Nows heres where I need help: What would be the best exhaust fan and ducting to get?Any help greatly appriciated w/ + rep

yeah man it's 170 cfm inline fan. it pulls really really good in my tent. it really helped with heat as well. my tent is 2'x2' and i believe yours is 2'7"x2'7" and slightly taller.. so i would say yes this combo would be very beneficial for your set-up to.

The people at HTG supply are very helpful and easy to deal with as well. the shipping is sometimes a tad high, but you will have your shit in 3 days. they r in PA, and Im in South Texas, and i always receive my stuff in 3 business days. :) they are very reasonable with pricing as well as quality!!

i just use 4" regular ducting with gear clamps to secure it. pretty much just 4" dryer ducting will work.. i'm not really sure about LED's and the heat they put off, but in your case im sure the regular 4" ducting will be fine.. :) happy growing!!

I personally would suggest you use a fan with more cfm movement than the fan from amazon. remember man, you can go cheap, but remember what cheap produces. (cheap results)!!! the growbright is a fan and carbon filter kit for $120, and will blast smell inside your tent. depending on where you are venting the exhaust air, you will still have smell when you open the tent to maintain your grow. it's just part of it man. I would recommend you "at least" get a fan with 170 cfm.!!!! your tent is around 50 cf in space. you want to at least triple that amount with air sucking through your tent..

So the more CFM the better?

you basically want negative pressure but u dont want your tent to collapse either the fan i suggested works fine for me im content with its performance you might want more cfm you also might want to put a fan in the bottom for fresh air intake. its all personal preference:weed:

oh i hear ya HB.. I'm not dogging your set up.. but more air flow is always good. the negative pressure is perfect in my tent. the fan isnt a jet engine.lol but i also take into consideration if ever wanting to upgrade size of tent or room, then you wouldn't have to buy a whole new setup.. I also recommend the fan control switch as well so you can control how much air your fan is moving.. http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Blower---Fan-Speed-Control.asp

also i dont see a brand name on it or any warranty info.. just sayin...;)

it's basically up to you bro. the gl80 as HB stated is 39cf. you could do a 120 cfm fan, but If it was me I would go a little bigger. It will help more with heat, smell, and overall air movement and fresh air being pulled in. I have the gl60 and it is around 22cf and i went with the 4" 170 cfm fan, and I am glad I did.

hey 420 it is up to you like Z said the rule of thumb is 3x the size of your tent but it doesn't hurt to go bigger whatever size you go just make sure the filter is rated for that size fan

Funny thing...is I was online looking at at fans and I was leaning towards ordering a fan with 170cfm just to go a lil over board (rather be safe than sorry) Thanks Bro

another question i had is....Considering that it is said that LEDs give off virtually no heat, is ducting necessary? or could i get away with the one exhaust fan?because i would strictly be using this fan for carbon filter and not to cool a bulb?
