Growing without germinating

hey Luda...i don't understand how would you know the plants grow stronger if this is your only method of germinating...

and i'm sure many people have grown strong, healthy, robust plants from germinating in a towel...

and are you saying, because you use Nirvana, that is why all your seeds sprouted, because i have also read good reviewsw and complaints...

not saying that planting a seed in soil isn't helpful or the correct way (since its mother natures way)...but... i don't see how germinating in a towel will produce weaker plants... all you're doing is moving a seed with a taproot and placing it in soil... and your statement is basically saying, germinating in ANYTHING besides soil will produce a weaker plant then a seed germinated in soil... their are so many options for mediums, would this be a correct assessment

i have used paper towels before on my first grow.
and yes all my seeds sprout and i always use NIRVANA seeds the shop is 20mins from home so i have never ordered or used any other kind of seeds.
i cant say every seed from NIRVANA will sprout but i have never came accross one yet.they must be nice and fresh and have a large turnover as every time i go to the store its packed with people buying seeds and they are all NIRVANA seeds(every strain)packaged and displayed in a large glass cabinet(massive selection).
and i never once said that the seeds are guaranteed to germinate because they come from NIRVANA(that would be ludacris and something i cant obviously test).

la9 is just joking around.his knowledge is very high and i have dealt with him before.he and myself dont like joking about when helping people and i am not sure what your beef is with your constant questions and disagreements with myself but i dont play games on this site or get into debates with haters and anyway if you were paying attention i use jiffy pellets to germ my seeds then transplant them into the soil and dont plant them straight into the soil as you said after you have already read my germination technique.

ummm.... wow... didn't know you wanted an immediate response from me... i do have grown man things to do... but of course, you wouldn't understand, because you just want to get up in the morning and watch cartoons....ha....i know you never said that Nirvana seeds are the reason for anything... i asked a question...

and for a bunch of potheads who want to come on here, acting all serious and shit 24 7... you need to fucking relax...... get some bud and get your first piece of pussy..not ass...because i know what kind of ass you would look for...... yall are the guys that stands next to the wall at a party and watch everybody else have fun....

and if you feel that my statement was gay... oh well... but that doesn't change the fact that you are gay... so i don't understand your point....and you went looking for the quote like you're Columbo... i guess you want a brownie...

and only little punk asses cry about people questioning them and disagreeing with them... so here's some advice.... get some Play-doh.... mold it until it looks like balls... and glue them on... because you're missing a couple, sissy boy....

i don't come on here to argue... i ask questions to learn....and i make my statements whether or not its agreeing or disagreeing with someone... i'm not a groupie.... and since you believe i'm a kid... congrats.. but stop naming yourself after Male Rappers... it just lets everybody know who you're drooling over everytime you see their crotch

never had a seed not germ in about 60+ seeds.
3rd grow.
(i germ seeds for my friends to get them started regularly).
maybe its just luck.
i always use NIRVANA seeds only(never bagseed).

Myself I have not grown from bagseed for ages and ages. I began using bagseed back in the 70’s, which of course was back in an era when there was no other option for most people in the world other than bagseed if they wanted to grow their own. Since the advent of seedbanks and the Internet and international shipping of seeds like most people I purchased seeds created by professional breeders through seedbanks. I would guess, and I do stress that this is only a guess, that I would likely have around a 94% germ rate since being able to purchase professionally produced seeds.

So you have germed around 60+ seeds and had a 100% germ rate. I have popped close to that in a single year when I had both indoors and outdoors grows and if we count bagseed I have popped more than that at a time when I had large outdoor grows back in the 70’s and the 80’s. What I found using bagseed is that when I cherry picked the very best looking seeds my germ rate pretty much equaled that of what I later had using professionally produced seeds.

I have had every single bagseed bean pop and I once purchased two 10-packs of beans from a big name breeder and not a single bean from either pack popped. As I said eventually someone will receive beans that are not viable, it just happens now and than and no technique for germing will overcome a bean that is not viable regardless of what is done. You just cannot make chicken salad out of chicken shit no matter how much mayonnaise you use.

While I would say that for most people using the paper towel method might be best and if nothing else it at least give them more confidence and the ability to see if their beans popped or not I have also heard and read and know of many people who after their beans popped damaged a taproot or two and had one or two less plants because of it. They can still say their beans popped and they had a high to total germ rate in the end they were no better off than if one or two had not popped because by handling the beans they ended up with fewer plants than they had popped beans. So it can be a double edged sword, a roll of the dice, something of a gamble or a six of one or a half dozen of the other situation.

Anyone who has done this for a while is bound to have read messages about or know people who have tried to pop beans using the paper towel method and did not do it correctly and ended up with nothing or next to nothing because they let their paper towels dry out or they ended up with popped beans and mold and they died. No method is guaranteed or 100% regardless of your success with around 60+ beans. But by the time you have grown for 37 years you will have learned that.

As for Nirvana’s gear I am happy to learn that you have had such great success with it because I have read and been told very numerous horror stories about their products and stories about people being unhappy with the quality of their plants and about the terrible dealings they have had with Nirvana and they are far more than enough for me to know I will never give them any of my money.

I hope your luck holds.

ya, Iam for direct planting, I have found the seed sponge from Park seeds works the best for me.Paper runs the risk of the tap root growing between the fibers .

I only used the papertowel method once ( it was ok, reminded of elementary school)

The method i always use with 100% success is a plastic cup with an inch or two of spring water, on a heat pad.
i dropp the seeds in the cup w/ water.

day later (sometimes 2 depending on seed) i got me my taproot

I am not sure that it can be called dedication or what but as I like to say I have been doing this since before most people here were nothing more than the gleam in the eyes of two strangers at a Guns & Roses concert.

Also been using this method even germed them in soil outdoors way back when I used to live in the caribean. With healthy seeds you always get 100% results when you put them in soil. The more you mess with them at an early stage, the easier it is for stuff to go wrong
