growing with led's

right, i have grown with leds and hps before, i have an led set up and also a hps light, 1x 60cmx60cm grow tent, extracter fan , carbon filter and all the bits,

my problem is this, the last grow i did, was just led's, i did six plants and only got about 2oz, v nice green tho, i think the problem here was heat, as it was getting very cold at night and i didnt have a heater to add to the set up. The buds didnt form fully and were quite thin.

when i use to hps grow, i would generally get around 8oz to 3 plants tho had hit 14 oz with 3 plants on one grow.

I obviously know the difference in hps to led, however i want to persist with led growing due to heat sig, the english coppers use this alot and its a problem, with nowhere to filter my heat to without giving obvious hot sopts on the house.

so my question is this
would it be best to get more led lights, preferably spot lights to add to the sides of the plants and underneath to give more light, i was thinking maybe 6 spot lights in total ?????
the led light i use is this one http://www.ecoledlights-uk.com/servlet/the-120w-Professional-Grow-Light/Categories

i would also increase the heat with a heater this time round.

i was thinking of getting 4x of these http://www.ecoledlights-uk.com/servlet/the-15w-led-grow-lights/Categories

and two of these http://www.ecoledlights-uk.com/servlet/the-led-spot-light-MR-16/Categories

as i said my main reason for the led is the heat sig, i am not expecting huge results, however i do think i can reach 5 oz for six plants if i get it right, but i think this massivley depends on the extra light so im asuming puchasing these extra lights will do it ???

any advice ??

You can add a few CFL as side lighting and filling in the missing spectrum. Alternatively, why not have the HPS light on during the day where there are less heat differences.

My experiance with LEDs is that they simply cannot supplement enough light. I jumped on the band wagon about 2 years ago and bought a UFO. Did great with seedlings, clones and early veg but fell apart during flowering. I even tried adding a couple spot lights with slight success. I dont know brotha, LED technology still ahs a long way to come in my opinion.

Have you looked at cool tubes? Or they even have H2O cooled systems that I have seen. LEDs work very well in theory but as far as application goes, well you said youve grown with both and seen the results. 2 ounces vs 8-14 ounces.. hmm.. ha ya know?

so you reckon leds for veg and then hps for flowering, leaving the light on during the day only ? could work, the cfl idea sounds alright tho, do they give off much heat ????

I've seen buds flowered with led and I've heard of many more. When sunlight sheds offered to give me a return for refund if not happy with the 90w ufo at $200 in 90 days I took it. I love the light, easy to position and zero heat.

I think leds have improved a lot in the last year and that they are the future.

Nah a couple CFLs won't give off too much heat, some people use a grip of em though cause they are so cheap and typically a low wattage and that when temperatures can start gettin a little tricky. If you are just usin a couple for side and under lighting to accompany either your hps or led, I wouldnt worry about it. And yeah, LED for veg has been workin great, doesnt cause the plants to stretch and its extremely low temp allows for some leniency with plants touching it.
