I'm curious, Is it possible to grow potent and sweet autoflowers with only using basic nutrients without all the extra additives?
Thanks for your input I'm currently on my first grow Chunkadelic by Humboldt seed Company, just started the flushing process just wondering how my ending results will be I kept everything real simple and basicYep.
I am currently growing 5 Critical Blue Autos by Expert Seeds in 15L pots, on my patio. They are in a cheap general purpose compost. Until they started to show signs of flowering they just got plain water, there was enough in the compost to keep them going. Once they started flowering I feed them on the same stuff my wife uses on her tomato plants, Tomorite, with a touch of Epsom Salts every other feeding. I feed them once a week. They are fine.
I am forming the opinion that most of these nutrients and additives are purest snake oil and a well rounded general purpose feed is all you need.
The only ‘additive’ I’d highly recommend on top of a base nutrient would be a root stimulant. They are certainly not a waste of money for the root mass is much bigger than without using itI'm curious, Is it possible to grow potent and sweet autoflowers with only using basic nutrients without all the extra additives?

Of course, more doesn’t necessarily mean better. Every living thing gets sick or out of balance when it eats too much.I'm curious, Is it possible to grow potent and sweet autoflowers with only using basic nutrients without all the extra additives?
Yes, good point I forgot to add that I a teaspoon of this when I plant the seedling. The only ‘additive’ I’d highly recommend on top of a base nutrient would be a root stimulant. They are certainly not a waste of money for the root mass is much bigger than without using it
Looks like you planted that one in the ground... that makes a huge difference if you have a well tended long term bed as a starting point. Beautiful plant and garden. If you have good medium, you can even grow with no nutes added. This is an autoflower I grew outdoors last year in yard soil with w layer of cane mulch over the top. Watered with a hose and rain. It did however get a seasol soak once a week. This was around week six of 10 for flower.

The photos I grew alongside were 6-7ft tall and didn't have any added nutes, so I'd say you could grow a decent plant in organic soil easily with no, or just base nutes.
Yes, but pot size matters. Not that you couldn't finish a plant in a smaller pot with excellent soil, but the more soil the better, so bigger pots will make happier plants, especially if you don't intend to supplement their diet much.I'm curious, Is it possible to grow potent and sweet autoflowers with only using basic nutrients without all the extra additives?
