hey wats up everyone?

so heres the thing,
i have a full 2 car garage to work with, i will only be using a small section of the garage for my grow, i will be having 64 clones flowering from root in my flowering room, and i will be having 4 mothers and and clones that havent rooted in my vegging room...

now the question i have is how can i eliminate odor? i want a good reliable way to eliminate it,

ill upload a pic so u guys can help me out better,

+rep for any replies!
:weed:

my guess would be a carbon filter hooked up to your exhaust fan...i just have my exhaust blowing into the attic and that seems to be working just fine (not so sure about the smell upstairs tho ha)

i have the whole garage to work with but i only need that little space for my grow, wud it be a good idea to put a filter outside of the grow room in my garage, so if the smell leaks to my garage it can filter it?
or wat do u guys think?

Then will you have others asking you what is that thing? if not it couldn't hurt I would wait and see if it at first necessary. I good one will probably do the trick, get the right size one for your room.

why put the filter out side the room?? that makes no sense.. have it inside the room and venting clean air out.. eliminate it at the source and u dont have to worry about it escaping

i will have 2 1000 watt hps in the flowering room, they are not air cooled, so i have to find a way to keep temps down and eliminate odor,

yeah i was thinking of getting an ozone generator and putting it outside of the grow room but yeah it would make more sense to put it in the actual grow room,

i have no experience with exhaust fans or carbon filters,

last time i grew in my empty bedroom with 1 1000 watt hps and just had some fans blowing,
the hottest it got was 85degrees so i never had a need to get a exhause fan or a carbon filter,

+rep for all the great response!

now i just need to figure out what im going to do to eliminate odor and keep the grow rooms cool...

Your best and least expensive bet is to purchase a "Can-Filter" activated carbon filter and an inline fan. Hang the carbon filter in between your two grow lights near the top of your flowering room and run flexible ducting to the inline fan. The inline fan sucks air through the filter and out of the room, expelling freshened air as well as excess heat. You can choose to vent this air directly outside (through the roof would be best- over the heads and noses of other people) or into the garage (added heat and potentially excess smell, unless you don't mind for the winter months).

If you're really concerned you can add an ozone system. But again, if you can manage to vent it out the roof, it should be fine. Just monitor the smell if you're concerned.

By the way, are you going to be growing anything particularly skunky or not? That will also be of importance in making your decision.

filter in grow room will eliminate heat too.. just make sure your filter has a higher cfm then your fan does.. but make sure your cfm on the fan is at least 2x the cf of the room.. oh yeah and need to have a good cold air intake source..

depends on how many plants you want also. if you have a ton of plants, you will need a lot of carbon filters to get the smell out..

Hey thanks for the responses fellas,
I just went to menards and bought a 8" IN-LINE DUCT FAN,
it says 500 CFM, the brand is SUNCOURT INDUCTOR,
it cost $29.99

I just cut an orange outdoor extension cord and wired it up, I haven't installed it in my grow room yet but do u guys think that's ok for an 8X4 flowering room with 2 1000 watt hps?

What else so I need to make my rooms odorless and keep the temps down?

Thanks everyone!

i`m assuming that at one point or another someone is going to go through your garage and maybe you don`t want strange ducts and vents sticking out of that odd looking corner of the garage. If that`s the case, here`s a good alternative https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/241418-rosemans-odor-bucket.html considering you`ll be growing in an easilly accessible space, it would be best to have a discreet setup cheers :leaf:

calculate the volume of your grow room and then divide it by the CFM rating, and you`ll see how much time it takes for the fan to fully remove all the air in your room once. 500cfm sounds pretty good, it will likely keep the stink in check but you`ll need AC or something to regulate the temp. A pair of thousand watters will turn your small room into an oven if you don`t have a way of cooling the air. A portable AC unit might work, and it can be rather inconspicuous as well

gonna need a filter to go wit your fan and i would recomend another fan dont think 500 cfm is gonna cut it..multiply your HxWxL that = your cfm u want to replace the air in your flower room at least 2x a minute

So I'll need another 500 cfm incline fan for my flowering room? What is the best way to setup the 2 fans and carbon filter? I have a window AC unit, or I can get a little AC unit and put it in the flowering room,
I've seen a few DIY carbon filters/scrubbers. Do you guys know wats the best way eliminate odors?

Thanks for the replies!
