growing slow as shit...

this weekend will be weekend number 5 for my new plants, and I'm upset because they're growing slow as hell, especially in the past 1.5 weeks. When I transplanted they were both root bound and I'm sure they're just now getting over root shock. I'm guessing it has something to do with my bargain bin soil (jungle grow, no idea where to get fox farm). I got a nice little grow box for a first timer with around 180 watts of CFLs in two 19 gallon rubbermaids. I've seen others on here with plants using CFLs the size of mine in a week.

Looking back, I see a lot of things I could have done better, espeically with watering early on in the seedling life (i thought i would make em work hard for that water making the roots stretch, a lil too much i guess). Also, not very efficient use of light either (just got into the grow box this past weekend).

Although, i did have a 26 watt 6500K on each directly above it with a reflector thru the first few weeks so i could get a compact grow due to space limitations. Maybe they're getting asjusted to having to stretch and grow big leaves to get the light now...who knows...need help

I started 7 more seeds just to see which ones look like healthy growers and compare them to what i have now to see if it was the seeds and the care of them or is it my setup.

I have the insides covered in foil tape with CFL hanging from the top. Also, I like this part, an intake outake system for the air. Cut a hole at the bottom of the side of the bottom tube, cut a hole twice as big in the top and put ur fan in it. Keeps that hot air from the top of the box to reach the plants, thus regulating temps.

I'll keep everyone updated on these new seedlings. I'm praying these two plants I got are just some stubborn ass fuckers that don't wanna grow...

its ok man, its kinda hard to grow in soil you dont know the ph of. buy a bag of miracle grow soil and distilled water the the soil is ph 5.5 and the water is 7 so without a ph tester its a pretty good way to make sure your plants are at resonable ph.

SleepyBuds.. It sounds like your problem is caused primarily from having too weak of a light source.. if a plant only has a 26W cfl on it, (the temp rating doesnt even matter with an intensity that low), its just plain not going to have the lumens needed for growth.. especially if you have the light too far from the plant (you said something about the seedlings stretching to the light).. when growing using cfls, even for 3-4 seedlings you need to have at least two 45W bulbs and that is still going to be pretty weak.. I suggest going to homeharvest.com, buy the 125W compact floro lamp and put it a couple inches from your seedlings, you will see growth then.. good luck!

Now that is a straight up hata, damn man smoke one. If you grew weed like you're sayin then you would be able to fuckin chill.

But anyway I have some advice for you. First off all if your not using nutes already then I suggest you start. I use blood meal for veg. right now and my plants exploded! I use one tablespoon per square foot of topsoil (I have a 3 gallon pot which equaled out to about 4 square feet of topsoil). I also grow with CFLs and I think you have more watts than me, but I keep mine about 1/2 inch from touching the plant tips and use ALL the light with efficient reflectors. If you don't have a reflector or have the plants this close I suggest you do. Good luck man
