Growing Serious Ak-47, Reserva Privada's OG#18, and Barney's Blue Cheese

I've done 2 of these 3....Barney's Blue Cheese is a pain in the ass in my opinion, but the smell and flavor produced is impeccable. Almost next to none. The OG18 is great herb, but too much on the sativa side for my liking. When I think of kush, i think of musty, knock out indica dominant herb that is rich in CBD, that is very helpful for anxiety and depression. The OG18 is more on the sour side, and all in the head. It is very powerful and potent, and if you like sativa-dominant kushes, you will love it. The flavor is spectacular. As far as how the 18 grows and yields...It is fairly easy to grow, and can handle a lot of feeding. The yield in dismal, one plant will rarely yield over an ounce. That is how a lot of kush varieties are. As far as the Ak-47 goes...I've smoked Serious Seeds version of it...If you can find the cherry pheno (fairly rare, usually get 1 per 10 pack of reg seeds if lucky), you will have some of the best herb on the planet. I've heard it is really hardy also. Hope this helps.

Mine was short with hardly any stretch at all to it. I think mine looked and acted more like an indica than a sativa. I've only grown the one out so it could just be a variation in phenos. I'm going to try the Blue Cheese again someday because I still have 4 more feminized seeds to use. I just don't know when I will give it another go.

I got some digital scales yesterday, so I could get an idea of what my yield from this current harvest was. I weighed the 4 full jars of bud that I got from the Ak-47 and the total weight was 103.6 grams. That is equivalent to 3.7 ounces. That is my personal best for a single plant so far. I only had 1 full jar of the OG#18, and it weighed in at 34 grams. That is my personal worst for a photoperiod plant for me, but I think the quality of this strain makes up some for the small yield. And to think that these 2 strains were grown the exact same amount of time and there was a difference of 3 ozs in their yields. I was actually surprised that I got as much off of the Ak-47 as I did. I am pretty happy with myself. Even though I don't think the Ak-47 smoke is all that great. Don't get me wrong, it is good. I just don't think it is great. It could just be a matter of personal preference too. My buddy seemed to like it alot. He said he thought it was worth $50 for an 1/8. I just need to make what I have last about 2 months until my new grow is harvested, and if I can do that I will be extremely happy. It has always been my intention to have a perpetual grow, but I never thought that I had the room to get it accomplished. It looks like I pulled it off this time, so I should be able to continue to do so from now on.

Okay fella's I am posting some pics of a few leaves that have started to pop up on my plant. The leaves start off having these small red dots on them. You could consider the color of the spots as a redish rust color. It's not on all of the leaves, but there are a significant amount of infected leaves on her. The infected leaves with the red dots seem to have red stems as well. I'm thinking that it is a Potassium defiency. Although I am still fairly new at this, and I haven't ran into this problem before. So any help on what I should do to fix this would help. I flushed the shit out of her yesterday, and I think she looks a little better today though. Just so people know I am growing in Miracle Grow soil in 5 gallon pots under a 400w HPS with about 100w of CFL's for supplemental lighting. I have some cheap nutes from Walmart, and I think it is called Expert Gardener. I think it is just a generic brand for Miracle Grow. The bloom nutes are 15-30-15. I watered both plants with a 1/4 tsp to a big watering can. I didn't notice any problems from either plant after I did that. I have only fed them like that twice so far. I normally don't have to feed my plants a whole lot for them to thrive. Anyways here are few close-up pics of the infected leaves:Any help with this matter would be deeply appreciated, so please help a honkey out! Lol!
my ak 47 is doin the exact same thing. did you ever find out what that is?

So which one do you like the best out of the Ak47 and the OG18 ????? THEY BOTH LOOK SO GOOOOD!!!!!!!Noice work mate.
Well the OG#18 was way better smoke. It was extremely potent and hard hitting. I didn't get a very good yield off of this strain though. Actually it was the worst yield of any strain I have ever grown. The Ak-47 yielded at almost a 1/4 lb, and the smoke looked amazing. It was completely covered in trichs, but I didn't really care for the smoke. I think it might have just been a shitty pheno, but I won't be buying anymore of them. They are to expensive for my taste and the quality just wasn't there for me.
